Look at this case if you want a keyboard. Bluetooth Case I have not tried it but it will work as long as you do not have a Verizon Tab. Verizon will not support any Bluetooth Keyboard at all. All other brands do.

I have had the FreedomPro keyboard for about a year and was pleased to see it paired instantly with my Galaxy Tab. It seems to be holding up well for me and works great with the Tab. When folded it's about the same thickness at the tab, so placing both into a pocket wouldn't be that comfortable.

i bought the freedom pro and returned it. while it paired quickly and was responsive, the 'stand' didn't hold the gtab's weight, nor was the keyboard action at all comfortable. it needs to be at a higher angle to work for me. But, if you like the ergonomics of the keyboard, it works quite well with the tab.

this is the keyboard i got and have found to be the only one i know of that will work w/ the tab. I have the sprint tab and i had to download updated driver from freedom input to get it to work. the keyboards w/ hid only profile will not work as the galaxy tab in the states only supports spp profile. it can be used w/ other devices as it has a button to switch it from spp to hid. i use it w/ my tab and iphone. here is a link to in on amazon.

This is very interesting news. Did it allow you to connect from the regular Bluetooth menu? I have the Verizon Tab and really want a keyboard. The info on this one says "Supports HID and SPP Bluetooth profiles". Can anyone confirm that will work on the Verizon Tab? Almost $100 is too much to spend for a test.

I got mine from eBay for about 79.00. I have heard vzw has blocked the Bluetooth from working but I can't say for sure since I have sprint tab. I was able to connect a hid bluetooth keyboard but could not get it to actually work. It connected and paired but was not in the input section. I think it just needs to drivers for it to work. I just don't know where to find them. You would need a generic driver to use the hid keyboard.

Oh ... never thought about the "stand" thing. I have one of those cases for my Tab that folds into a stand so I just used that. I could see a problem if you didn't already have such a case. I was just reading another post where someone found a case with a BT keyboard built into it. If I didn't already have my setup I would certainly consider that.

Springer I was on the xda developer forum and it looks like someone has got a kernel for the vzw galaxy tab. They are going to test it this weekend. It will support the hid bluetooth profile. To install it you will need heimdell. It is pretty easy to use. I used it to flash the 1.2ghz kernel just released.

I have been following that thread. I have flashed custom ROMs on devices in the past so I will do it if it is confirmed to work. When I am ready for another Tab I will not buy from Verizon.

I agree w/ that. I wish I would have gotten the tmob tab. I could put a custom mod on it then. No CDMA mods right now which sucks.

I have the tmobile version and I get decent coverage. T mobile is not the fastest network but decent enough for my needs.

One thing I REALLY like is the way the t mobile version will automatically and transparently (and free of charge) connect me to a tmobile wifi hotspot.

I spent a lot of time in airports and this if a great feature.

Springer you will love this. I went into Costco the other day and they had the verizon tab. I decided to stop and ask the bluetooth question. I asked when is version going to come out w/ a fix for Bluetooth for this tab. The guy looked at me and said what you can't use Bluetooth on this. I said nope vzw has it locked down. He said man I didn't know that and I have been telling people they could use Bluetooth w/ it. I just and moved on.

Bluetooth works but just with some things. I have a stereo headset that I got to work for listening to music. No problem there. The answer is yes and no. Depends on what you want to connect. I am still watching threads on XDA about this and I hope someone there will have a fix soon. Verizon gained nothing by removing some of the Bluetooth support. I can't figure out why they would do it.

For the last few days, I was shopping around for a Bluetooth keyboard to use with my Tab. I ended up going with the Apple wireless (take that, iPad!) because its portable, not incredibly expensive, is easy to type with and just plain looks cool. Sometimes it takes a few tries to pair, but once it does its solid. I've had it paired for at least four hours and it hasn't skipped a beat yet. Of course, it wasn't made for the Galaxy Tab, so not all of the keys function. So basically I want to know if there is an app out there to map out the keys. As it is, I really don't have any complaints. F1 calls up the menu, F4 puts the Tab to sleep mode, the Tab key goes straight to Google search, and ESC escapes out of the program. So out of the box it works beautifully. But I want perfection! If anyone has an app suggestion I would appreciate it.

Spoiler

Incidentally, the stand is a Targus Acrylic Mini Stand made for iPads that I found at Future Shop. But it works great for the Galaxy Tab.

I have this Igo Stowaway folding keyboard that is for sale on Amazon for well over $100. It worked fantastic with my Nokia N810 Linux Internet device. It does not work with the Galaxy Tab or with any Ipod or Ipad device. I have tried the Blueinput app as well. It still does not work.
