I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e wifi only version. I don't see a section for that specific model, so I'm posting it here. I have been having issues with it picking up weak WiFi signals. I use it mainly at work, and at work the wifi signal is weak but my old Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7" wifi only version picks it up just fine. The connection is sufficient for my use to keep in contact with parents via chat messaging. I've had Samsung products before and have never had an issue. The s5e is great in all aspects accept it's not connecting to my works wifi. I have called Samsung and reset the networking settings. I've ran it in safe mode, and have recently did a factory reset on it after I got it set up like I wanted it. I did not install anything onto it app wise in case it was an app doing it. Nothing is helping. When I sit in the parking lot at work. I can see both wifi connections at work plus like 5 other wifi connections on my galaxy tab A. My s5e will pick nothing up. It's like the wifi reception on it is very weak. Samsung said that most likely it's a bad unit to send it in for repairs. But they promised me every step of the way that every step would definitely fix it. It did not. I even flat out asked if this is a known issue with this specific model. They said no. I feel like I really need to talk to others who may have the s5e and see if they have the same issue? Because otherwise it works fine, nothing is wrong with it. I even told Samsung this. Other than the fact it is about -5db less in reception then my Tab A. My Tab A picks up reception at -97db in the room I work in. When I check on the s5e, it has reception at -103db. That's quite a difference. But Samsung keeps saying that a replacement should fix the issue. I just don't want to go through repair or replacement just to have the same issue. I know that most people won't have this issue because most wifi connections are solid when using it. I happen to be in an area where I have low signal. I just feel that if I send it in for repairs or replacement I will most likely have the same issue or I will get it back saying they can't find the issue.

Is there a work around for it seeing as I can't get a refund, just a replacement. Is there a way to use another devices wifi connection? I know my dell laptop has an option to broadcast a wifi connection and can share internet that way. But I would have to have my laptop set up on the cubbies next to the door, and it would have to be on and awake all day. Doesn't work in hibernate mode. So it's not convenient or realistic. I can't use my cell as a hotspot because we are not allowed to have our cell phones on us. I did talk to the director and basically what we have in the office is a wifi extender. We are using the Church's wifi connection. So it's already being extended. Where an extender would need to be put there are no outlets. So I'm trying to figure out a solution without having to try to hook up another router or extender. That just degrades the signal, and not necessary in their eyes.

Maybe if you replace it the problem will be fixed.
