I quite like the inbuilt Music app except for the coloured abstract album covers it allocates to each album

Has any one found out hoe to change these for a copy of the real cover - similat to Widows Media Player

There are a number of "Album Art Finder" Apps in the Market, but make sure you read the user reviews because some are rubbish......

Oh - I have the Album Art.. its a case of how to incorporate it into the Music App

Or is the Album Art App for the GT, and then that puts it into the Music App ?

Oh, Sorry.... :sorry:

I use PowerAMP, it's much better than the stock Music App....... and it seems to have no trouble picking up album art, in fact it says that it downloads missing album art.

ive had a look at poweramp app - It certainly does get the album covers nicely BUT .. Have you seen the power usage for the CPU compared to the standard player app.
Its near 18% for poweramp nearly ALL the time, compared with 3% for the Player every now and again

That's not as much of a consideration for me.......

I use my Tab extensively in my car, in a Samsung Car Dock, with Car Dock Home V3 software. So I always have power to the Tab.

What is important to me, is functionality, performance, and professional looking graphics, which PowerAMP, along with the other software I use, give me :good:

Hello friends. Today I faced a weired problem. Suddenly the default music app started to close with a message asking to restart the app later and to force close it. I could not open the music files and had to struggle for some times.

Then suddenly the solution appeared. Well, friends let me share the solution with you.
Cause: I used TubeMate app to download a song in MP3 format. It downloaded without any problem and played the file. I directly accessed the file and played it via FileManager app.The file had a VERY LONG NAME.

Solution: I just renamed the file. Gave it a short name and voila the problem was gone.

Learning: GT does not love long names.
Hope this will help somebody.

I have an SD card with music on that I have copied from my CDs. I keep this in my BB phone but rather than buying a new SD card, can I just store the music in the TAB? It sounds simple to me- but my fingers wont make the magic happen

You sure can. Just put the sd card (assuming its micro sd) in your tab and use a file explorer (My Files is the native explorer) and copy them all to where you want on your tab.

If its not a micro sd card, use your computer to get the files from the card or bb and use Keis (or use tab as mass storage device) to put them on your tab.

let us know how you went.

use the preinstalled file manager 'My Files'..

find the music folder you want to delete files from and click on select. tick what you want to delete and then hit delete.

there is a little icon that you can click on at the bottom right side of the screen when the full player is open that changes it between 'repeat 1' and 'repeat all' and 'play all'

make sure its not on repeat 1 and it should play on..

Samsung Kies......search for it on the forum.

Or you can use a MicroSD card in a SDHC USB reader, plugged into a PC. This can then be inserted in your Tab, unsurprisingly in the slot marked microSD :good:

Yes, I tried the Kies program, but for some reason everytime I try to install it I get a "error 1606. could not access appdata" error and it closes out. I guess I will have to go buy a micro SD card and do it that way.

you shouldn't need to do that, kies should transfer music, photos etc without a hitch.
Which country did you buy your Tab in?

there is no need to use any progran to transfer files to your Tab. under settings, set it to USB connection upon PC connection and it will turn into a hard drive which you can just drag and drop files into it. if the files are small, i usually just use bluetooth for the transfer.

i have only use KIES to backup my stuff and never use it for file transfer. my previous experience with KIES on my Samsung Wave shows there are some limitation by KIES which they resize the pictures when you use KIES to do the transfer.
