Hi Cap
At present at least, the Tab 2 Operating System doesn't support installation of Apps to the SD Card. On top of that, occasionally if the Tab 2 is shut down or rebooted it can give you a message that the card is corrupted but another reboot usually solves that. Another issue is that the Tab seems to lose files on the SD Card which invariably end up in the 'LOST.DIR' on the card which then means they are useless. To give yourself more external space I suggest a USB adaptor so that you can keep your music, pictures etc on that. I have two USB adaptors one from a set for also connecting, SD & Micro SD cards and the other which I prefer has a short lead on it so that the USB stick is not sticking out directly from tje bottom of the Tab.. These can be aquired from .Amazon as '
UltimateAddons 30 Pin to Female USB OTG Adapter for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9" - 10.1" and
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 SD Card and USB Adapter - Black
Hope that helps

wizz, on 15 September 2012 - 05:37 PM, said:The LOST.DIR is indeed a folder that is holding corrupt or damaged files found when the Tab starts up....you can delete any files found in that folder, if you wish.
Loss of files from your SD Card is indicative of a "flaky" ( or sometimes even fake ! ) SD Card .... It may also occur if you remove it, or stop a data transfer process before it has completed.
Try formatting it on the Tab itself, for best performance and compatibility, and if it continues to loose files.... replace it.
Thanks Superman, I know my way around such things but it occurred to me that it might be a 'Tab 2' peculiarity. I did a bar code scan on the Micro SD packaging when it arrived and it came up ok but I know they can be a bit glitchy. I had already decided that I'm going to get one of those Card/USB adaptor kits and keep important stuff on a USB Stick. -

TerriM, on 07 September 2012 - 07:42 PM, said:"Off" as in asleep, or "Off" as in turned off? I just used the stock alarm and it woke up my Tab 2 from sleep mode with no problem. I did have to unlock my Tab after I turned off the alarm, but I do the same thing with my RAZR Maxx. Of course the alarm will not turn the Tab 2 "on".
Hi TerriM
I meant 'Off' as in 'Off' - The alarm on my Samsung smartphone (which is not even an android) works when the phone is totally 'Off'. This is a function I thought my Tab would have but clearly it doesn't. While I have no complaints with the battery life, having an alarm that functions like my phone is far better. -

Hi Bart
I have solved the issue via the Google forum which was just as well because as much as I know my around a machine, changing ones profile name on the Google+ profile edit page is not immediately obvious. It was as I suspected my profile name but Google should have made such things a little more obvious at the time...I hate playing..............guess your non deliberate mistake!
Thank you for your help nonetheless. -

the account to use on the Tab will be the one that is shown in : Settings, Accounts and sync, manage accounts,
that should be the one you sign in with for 'Play Store' also,
if you sign in to gmail on your PC, then click your 'username' (top right of screen), you should see 'view profile',
you should then see an 'Edit profile' option, to check your profile entries
Hi Bart
Yes I do have a Google account and sign into that on my Tab no problem in fact I can sign into most anything related to my google account except G+. Once I'd set my Tab up I was having google related sign in issues until I tried G+. It doesn't affect any general google use except G+ and G+ related stuff.
I've read all their policy nonsense and I'm damned if I can see what the problem is. I wrote to the google webmaster address but of course I didn't either get or expect a response. There policy pages states:-
'If approved, your profile will have normal access. Otherwise, you’ll get an email saying that your request was denied and your profile will continue to be suspended. At that point, you can still re-edit your profile or name and submit it for review.
We're sorry for the inconvenience'
I've researched this issue and there seems to be a lot of people having the same issue but in many cases, they have no idea why.
