Ive have been trying to gain root access with my tab for quite some time. I really dont need it cuz the tab is great its vzw last model of the original so basically it s bug free and has the fastest single core processor Ive seen out of many smart devices. Its packin 2.3.5 with the 2.6.35.7 kernel. Ive tried every root apk, theres no cwm version built for it, Ive tried flashing almost all except cwm6 touch even cwm all, through odin, it get the green pass when i flash but i cant seem to boot anything but stock recovery android 3ce or w/e. Its delicate to what I can do thats why Im very hesitant to flash in the galaxy cubed 3 rom because Im on a data plan and might need my vzw rom to continue to recieve data so im very cautious. I have the heimdall suite but idk that program looks like a brick maker rather than a software flasher. Odin will only allow you to flash what should be heimdall you can try to flash anything on your pc. I really dont wanna go back to froyo which I know I can root. Ive searched many days and hours trying to locate the pit file and or a modified stock kernel i got root explorer apk which does let me explore a lil in the tab s root library but can do lil in making changes I almsot wanna delete the stock recovery (which is backed up) and see if it will allow me to boot any cwm version. Im really outta options other than a modified stock kernel i was able to find one for my galaxy s and thats what got it rooted down but it lags horrible and im even runnin the re partioned ext4 voodoo lag fix with the prcssr OC d and it still lags horrible. So i guess if anyone knows any tricks or can tell me what im missing or doing wrong or need to do right or has a link for a modified kernel plz help me make my tab all it can and should be. I even put an sdk tools package on my pc but the only emulator that will run is sqite3lite or close to that.

I just got a pc to kinda use it as my tabs dumping station. My Tab is nowhere needing it yet but a coupe dozen more home movies it will. I can transfer very easy nothing complicated about it but playing the video MP4 format different story. Suprisingly Ive got audio (cuz other pcs didnt even have that) but it lags way behind the video atleast 5secs. I need to know what you guys think if I should use a converter or if you know some good software for playing your tab movies. Either my pc is no good at processing MP4s or WMP isnt the correct software. I have a VIA desktop and when I play my MP4s the processing gauge is tapped out at 100%. Really dont wanna delete em from my tab til I have a sure fire way to watch them. I tried to burn a DVD leaving them MP4 format and the DVD player wasnt havin it either but I didnt try playing the DVD in my pc becuz I figured Id get the same results but ill try it tonight see what happens. Im stuck between a rock and a hard place here and I need some input on methods or software to turn to for Android Video Camera Recordings. Any help will be greatly appreciated even if its just saying Windows Media Player should be running them fine.

I was wondering how or what you have to do to gain advancement in your membership staus. Im NOT leaning toward being a moderator and I am grateful I dont have "Newbie" stamped above my name either. Im just curious who decides your membership status and how? Idk maybe it all depends on the things Im doing but I know I have alot to bring to the table I know more than ppl tabbing for years now. I just wanna know how it all works? Thats if you feel comfortable informing me.

I currently own the original galaxy tab obviously you can tell by my screen name but looking to buy a second because I also let my gf and my bro use this one and we all cannot use it at the same time. The first concern is price and it seems the tab2 has a better one because it can be found at wal mart for $250 and the plus seems to be over $300 online. A wifi only model will be fine I can just use my hot spot. I wonder tho if the tab2 at wal mart is the real deal tho I tried it and wasnt that impressed but it worked well. The next concern is the OS honeycomb(+) or ICS(2) ive tried both and really I jus like GB its way more user friendly or maybe im jus too used to it. They both have the IR blaster which is really why im interested in them. But at any rate I would really appreciate some input and detailed opinions from anyone familiar with the two. The pros and cons. Idk maybe there is no right choice here since both have "galaxy tab" stamped on them but either way I wanna know what you fellow users think.

Is it possible to make calls on the tab using Google Voice? My tab is the verizon model and from what Ive read it is CDMA and calling through VoIP is blocked. Ive heard you can make calls with the foreign P1000 models becuz they use GSM carriers. When I try to call it starts to trying to connect then cuts out. If anyone knows how to safely alter or modify the tab to allow it to call shed some light my way. Ive already accepted there might not be anything I can do about this so if this is just a dead end then i wont be that disappointed anyway.
