    Can also see if you can get a "dock" application. This has a clock type mode. When in this mode, screen stays on for a while, then turns into a led digital clock which bounces around screen (presumably to avoid "burn in")....

    I understand why you want this (not so much for the alarm, but for the desk clock).

    Are you rooted? What I do is....download to my phone. Use root file manager to bring up file. Send to her gmail address or my own dropbox account. Take her phone, open my dropbox account, install from there.

    If you aren't rooted, download to pc. Then send to her email,or to your dropbox account. I find if apps come from sources "other than" the market, they are easier to share...
