you most likely have your contacts saved to more than one place,
if you open 'Contacts' & tap the + sign, to add a contact, you will see "Save contact to"
this will show you all the places you have on your Samsung Note
(ie: Device, Google X@google.com, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync x@hotmail.com,)
there may be multiple google, hotmail & others, depending on your email accounts
you can either edit each Individual in your contact list & remove the places you don't want,
or if you have a list of contacts on your PC, that you do want on your Samsung Note,
make a .vcf file copy of the list on your PC,
clear your current contacts completely on your Samsung Note
(settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All ... scroll to Contacts & tap, tap Clear data)
check your settings, Accounts & sync, under Manage accounts, tap the email accounts you have listed,
& Un-Check 'Sync Contacts' in each one
then copy your .vcf file from your PC to your Samsung Note, open Contacts, settings, Import/Export,
Import your .vcf file & save to Device only -

In Topic: Apps same as those on phone
22 May 2013 - 11:56 AM
downloaded apps are allocated to the gmail address, so if you have ie: dadace2@gmail.com on his Galaxy Ace 2,
signing on to his Tab 2 with with the main account as dadace2@gmail.com will automatically add any apps he has downloaded to his Galaxy Ace 2,
to keep his phone & Tab separate you will need to create a separate account for the tab ie: dadtab@gmail.com & sign in with that as the main account
to clear the current unwanted apps from his Tab 2, you will need to do a Factory Reset (with both boxes 'Back up my data' & 'Automatic restore' Un-checked )
when you have reset the Tab 2, create his new gmail account, ( re-check the boxes 'Back up my data' & 'Automatic restore'),
then he can download any apps he wants for that device
the advantages of using the same account on all devices are that everythin is synced, so things are accessible from any device,
email, messages, contacts, calendar, documents, music, photos, videos ... etc -
In Topic: Tab 7.7Jelly Bean update, Wifi u/s, how to revert?

richard601, on 22 May 2013 - 10:57 AM, said:yes done all of the above. it was working on this wifi when i did the update. Also tried wifi in another place, it did work, and at a friends, which worked before, did not accept the password. always comes up 'authentication problem'.
if it worked on a WiFi at another place, then the problem could be the router encryption selection, even though it worked before the update,
see the quote below, from a website
{when doing a Factory Reset, be sure to follow the instructions :
(check the box "Back up my data", Un-check the box "Automatic Restore", this can be checked again after the reset,
but may restore the settings/data that was causing problems)
[best to test before you restore things one at a time & check to see if the problem has returned] }
quote from website :
After getting the authentication error in your Galaxy GT-P6800, try to connect other devices to your network. If you have a laptop or other mobile phones, try connecting them to see if they, too, would get the same error. If they can connect just fine, then you already know the problem is not with your router/network.
Try rebooting your phone first. Reboot often fixes simple problems so you should try that before you go any further. Once the phone is up, try reconnecting to see if you can.
Go to Settings => Wi-Fi and make sure the toggle switch is on. Tap and hold on the name of your network to open its settings page. Once it pops up, tap on “Forget this Network” button.
Let the phone detect networks in range and select the one you usually connect to. Enter credentials and try to browse the web to see if you can.
If you can’t connect to your network still, try to find networks you can temporarily connect to and see your phone works just fine. If it does, then try using a different encryption type in your network. There were reports that GT-P6800 not connecting to a network that uses WPA2. -
