    Get yourself a data counter App and see how much data is actually being sent/received.

    Do you have the Background Data and Auto-Sync set to on?

    It might be nothing more than that, or it checking for updates to Apps which you have installed. Wouldn't worry about it unless it's a LOT of data.

    Well no, not quite - the arrows will only be lit if data is actually being transferred. If nothing's going in or out the arrows will not be lit.
