I have the Galaxy tablet SPH_P100 and I can't figure out how to zoom the camera or camcorder. I know I can't zoom while videoing but want to zoom before I start recording. I tried the volume buttons but that doesn't work. In the specs it says the camera zooms, but I don't see anything in the user manual about it. Help please.

There are no instructions in the manual for zooming in/out when taking photos/videos.

So I would say the function is not there..unfortunately.

Zoom would not be such a wise function with such a low resolution camera.

I think the idea is to zoom and crop once you have taken the picture. But quality will ne reduced.

There is no zoom.
If you want a better quality picture you can enhance the focus by holding your finger on the icon for an extra second or two before it takes the shot.

Useful tip.

My experience of digital zooms, rather than true optical zooms is that you always get a better picture by cropping and re-sizing anyway.

The app Vignette lets you zoom in on your tab. It's pretty inexpensive, I think around 4.00 and is well worth it. It adds a lot of different features to the camera.

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum and the Galaxy Tab. I use it for work and am the first one in my company to have one. I can't use it to its full potential b/c I don't know how to zoom in and out with the camera. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

dowmload Vignette from the apps market, it allows digital zoom. The GT does not have optical zoom capability.

As long as you know the limitation of digital zoom :)

The tab does not have a zoom as previously mentioned for a reason, the pixal resolution is not really hi enough. Better to concentrate on getting a sharper image in the first place and then cropping later. To enhance your focus, hold on the camera button for a second before taking the picture.

Agree, digital rooms always play negatively on the quality, and so far found the quality of the camera good, have taken some good pics
self would just then crop the part that you want. Have seen a crop function somewhere
