Hello all,
Thank you in advance for your help and time.
My brother recently acquired a GT-P1000 (unlocked)and after using it for a while, he purchased the new Galaxy Tab 7 Plus and gave me the GT-P1000.
I upgraded the existing 2.2 Froyo to the new 2.3.3 Gingerbread using Samsung Kies version 2.1
There is a numerous number of applications that have been installed on it and it's by far the best phone i have owned.
However, I attempted to use Google Talk, and it will only sign in using my brother's Gmail account, I added my account to the Gmail application and attempted to remove his account.
I get the following message.
"this account is required by some applications. You can remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data). You do that in the Settings application, under Privacy.
My fear is, if I reset the phone to Factory Defaults, will the new Gingerbread 2.3.3 upgrade be reverted back to 2.2 Froyo? and is this upgrade still available of Kies or I would have to download it again from scratch?
and will I lose all the settings and application updates that I have installed on the phone?
I already Backed up everything on Kies.
What do you advise me to do?
Thank you.

resetting the phone to Factory Defaults will reset it to the currently installed Rom ( Gingerbread 2.3.3)
the settings will revert to knew, if you have an Android Market account in your name, you can redownload any paid & free apps again
when doing the Factory reset, in Privacy, uncheck the two boxes "back up my data" & "Automatic restore" or these will restore all your brothers accounts
once you have done the Factory Reset, recheck those two boxes, to backup & auto retore your details, should you need to Factory reset again any time

Thank you very much Mr. Laroc.
Another question please, is there anyway I can backup my applications or do I have to download them again?
Thank you once again.

You can back them up if you want to keep your scores and levels on games but generally if you don't need your scores, FOC and your paid apps will just download again.
