hope you Registered your Product
Samsung Support, Register your Product, Create a Samsung Account
(settings, about device, status, scroll down for Serial Number)
also download the User Manual, much better than the Quick Start supplied
& Kies software for your PC

You can export you outlook contacts as a .csv. Then log onto google contacts (on your pc) and import them. Once there they will automatically sync with your Note, as long as you use the same google account.
No Kies or cables required !
If you need a step by step then say so and I'll knock something up for you. I'll check back later on.

There is an excellent free program for this and far more control over your galaxy note. I have been using it since getting my note. Syncs contacts, diary notes etc, but does so much more, instal apps, transfer files, send messages, make calls etc. myphoneexplorer. Hope this helps.

These are excellent solutions. I have used MyPhoneExplorer before and it does so much more than just copy or sync contacts. Personally, I've found it important to actually sync the contacts instead of just copying them as you originally asked. When I make changes on either device, it's really nice to have them synced so I can view the most recent information at either place. So I highly suggest sync methods instead of copying. A long list of other great sync software can be found at syncdroid.net, including great free software like Gocontactsync.
