Whatsapp is another keeper

I use it to communicate with those on my Contacts (Address phone)
and be used by anyone running Android, iOS, Nokia and Blackberry

Description
Get WhatsApp Messenger and say goodbye to SMS!WhatsApp Messenger is a smartphone messenger available for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Phone and Nokia phones. WhatsApp uses your 3G or WiFi (when available) to message with friends and family. Switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages. First year FREE! ($1.99/year after)

WHY USE WHATSAPP:

★ NO HIDDEN COST: Once you and your friends download the application, you can use it to chat as much as you want. Send a million messages a day to your friends for free! WhatsApp uses your Internet connection: 3G/EDGE or Wi-Fi when available.

★ MULTIMEDIA: Send Video, Images, and Voice notes to your friends and contacts.

★ GROUP CHAT: Enjoy group conversations with your contacts.

★ NO INTERNATIONAL CHARGES: Just like there is no added cost to send an international email, there is no cost to send WhatsApp messages internationally. Chat with your friends all over the world as long as they have WhatsApp Messenger installed and avoid those pesky international SMS costs.

★ SAY NO TO PINS AND USERNAMES: Why even bother having to remember yet another PIN or username? WhatsApp works with your phone number, just like SMS would, and integrates flawlessly with your existing phone address book.

★ NO NEED TO LOG IN/OUT: No more confusion about getting logged off from another computer or device. With push notifications WhatsApp is ALWAYS ON and ALWAYS CONNECTED.

★ NO NEED TO ADD BUDDIES: Your Address Book is used to automatically connect you with your contacts. Your contacts who already have WhatsApp Messenger will be automatically displayed under Favorites, similar to a buddy list. (You can of course always edit Favorites any way you like)

★ OFFLINE MESSAGES: Even if you miss your push notifications or turn off your phone, WhatsApp will save your messages offline until you retrieve them during the next application use.

★ AND MUCH MORE: Share location, Exchange contacts, Custom wallpaper, Custom notification sounds, Landscape mode, Precise message time stamps, Email chat history, Broadcast messages and MMS to many contacts at once and much much more!

The first app I installed (maybe it goes without saying? or else why did nobody else mention it?) was an antivirus. I chose Webroot Security. Next useful app I found is Free Zone. If you are a frequent user of wifi hotspots (and with a 7" wifi only tablet, why wouldn't you be?), it is invaluable for locating free wifi signals. It's community-based, so when you find a good spot, you can add it to their database. Dolphin HD browser works well for me. I tried the new Dolphin Tablet browser and couldn't get it to work. Easy Battery Saver, though if I get the app someone mentioned here that does a whole bunch of stuff and it has a battery saving feature also, I may not need EBS. First Aid by British Red Cross works in places that don't have wifi, so it's always available. NYC Bus and Subway Maps, also no need for wifi. SoundHound - I always wanted a way to instantly identify a song I liked! And just for fun, My paints for doodling.

I tried a couple of "move apps to SD" apps and found them complicated to use, or they didn't work for me. Anyone have a suggestion for a simple one? Or can you tell me how to manually move your apps to the SD card?
Oh, wait, scratch that. Seems the Android Assistant does thet too. I must get that!

I changed from Webroot to avast! Mobile, because I use avast! on my computer and it was the best reviewed of the Android security apps too. Other apps I've gotten are Dropbox, Alarm Clock 3 (you can use your own music for alarms), and Brightest Flashlight - good to have around for emergencies. I've just gotten Pixlr-o-matic but haven't played with it much yet. It seems more versatile than Instagram.

QuickPic is very good for pic viewing. Much faster than stock album viewer.

Another must have app:

POCKET (offline reader)
Dropbox
Flixster (for movies and ticket show time)
Dolphin Browser (although the stock browser on tab 7 plus is not bad actually)
Talkatone (great for wifi only tabs)
skype
CamScanner (turns ur pic into pdf files)

Fyi, whatsapp doesnt work for Honeycomb, but I think it will work for ICS.
App2sd doesnt work for samsung's honeycomb tabs......
