Best wishes to all you Notaries for the Winter Solstice.
I have a minor problem on which I should like your advice
The power switch on the Note is top right; the volume control rocker is top left. When I operate the power switch I
almost always operate the volume control also, so that the ring volume is often too low to hear. If I notice, I turn
it up again, but many times I don't, and I have missed calls as a result. The settings menu has volume sliders, but
they are over-written by the external control.
I was reading recently about an app. Audioboost, to control volume in Android devices. It overrides the maximum setting by up to 30%, (they say) but I imagine it is also controlled by the hardware switch. I see on the market there are a number of other apps with similar features.
My questions are these:
1. is there a way of disabling the volume rocker control - without rooting the phone ?
2. does anyone know of an app which will do this ?
Thanks, guys.

have you tried RingGuard?
It doesn't lock out the volume buttons but it does ask you to confirm changes or it reverts to it's previous setting
