Ok here is the JM6 firmware we will be try t flash if the other does not work. Download the tar files from the link to the right. http://www.multiupload.com/YGRDEMFXKZ

You will need to extract the files using winzip or whatever extraction utility you like. In the folder you will see a pit file and hidden.rfs. you won't be using them. You will be using the pit file in the above post.

Here are the files you will be using and where they go in heimdall.

1. P1_20100909.pit - Pit
2. factoryFS.rfs - factoryFS
3. zimage - Kernel(zimage)
4. param.lfs - Param.lfs
5. boot.bin - Primary Bootloader
6. Sbl.bin - Secondary Bootloader
7. cache.rfs - Cache
8. modem.bin - Modem

There is no file for database data or recovery. I hope this works this time.

Thanks..Im downloading now..will try and let you know...

Ok reflash everything again from the post above using Heimdall and do not select repartition this time. If it does not work try flashing it again w/ the gt_p1000_mr.pit file w/out repartition selected and see what it does. This should reboot the device and get it back into android. Once that happens we will flash Roto JMI v2 so the person has the latest firmware. Skip the odin instruction below and use the heimdall instructions to flash ROTO JMI. If the JM6 fails then I will have you just flash JMI via heimdall and if that doesn't work the flash the tar files via odin and you will use the instructions below for odin. If all this fails tell the person to send it back to SAMSUNG for repair.

That is a good thing the Tab tried to rebooted. Turn the tab off and then turn it back on and hopefully this time it will boot into android. If not one more fix. I wil have you install roto JMI V2.

You will need to use ODIN for this. You will be downloading the following file.

1. Roto-JMI-FULL-V2.zip <----------http://files.deodexed.com/ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet/Rotohammer/JMI/
2. P1_add_hidden.pit <----------http://files.deodexed.com/ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet/Rotohammer/JMI/

You will need to unzip the JMI file and you should have the following file.
1. you should have a file called Roto-JMI-Full-V2.tar

Now if that doesn't work we will use hiemdall to flash this later on.

Leave the tar file intact. Put the tab into download mode by holding Power and Volume Down at the same time. launch Odin v1.7(if you get an error about some missing .dll file then you need to install the Microsoft .Net framework). MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU ADD YOUR FILES-THE TAB IS PLUGGED IN-YOU WILL HAVE A YELLOW COM BOX. Attach your tab to your computer, if you have windows 7 the drivers will be installed for you. If you don't you'll need to get them from here. http://downloadcente..._v1.3.350.0.exe <---these drivers may not work for the tab but give them a try. You may also not need them.

Use Odin V1.7 and Place the pit file in the pit section and the tar file in the PDA section. Place the Addon-JME-Modem.tar in the phone section. The JMI file does not have a modem so you can try the JME modem file you downloaded last night. Make sure Re-partion, reboot, f.reset time are check hit start and it should flash all the files. If Odin does not work lets try heimdall.

You can extract the file above and use Heimdall to flash the only thing I am not sure about in the movinand.mst file. <--you don't need to flash this file and the tab will still work. Skip the movinand.mst, you don't need it, its to format the internal sdcard only.I am hoping odin will work. You can try to flash it all via hiemdall. here are the files you will flash.

1. P1_add_hidden.pit - Pit section <----Do not select repartition w/ heimdall that is where we went wrong.
2. factoryFS.rfs - factoryFS section
3. zimage - Kernel(zimage) section
4. param.lfs - Param.lfs section
5. cache.rfs - Cache section
6. dbdata.rfs - Database data section
7. Modem.bin - Modem - use the modem.bin file from the add-on-modem you downloaded last night.

If this does not work have the person send the tab back to SAMSUNG for repair. I am hoping the last flash we did via Heimdall reset some stuff and this flash will work. You may have to flash this several times to get it to work.

I've tried everything by following step by step of your instruction but got no luck. Phone reboots to Galaxy Tab logo and stuck there. I've given up and gave the phone back to the guy.
I did search and found out from other forum: http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=975743 and the guy has exact same problem and didn't seem to find the solution for it either.
I can't thank you enough for your time and effort to try to help me though. Thanks..

It sucks but it is possible to brick a tab. I have seen development brick tabs and I saw a post from rotor about it can actually happen. I guess the client learned a valuable lesson.

Try touching the screen whilst holding the power key; I've heard reports of it taking between 10 and 30 seconds to respond.

Hold the Home/volume up and power keys until a landscape screen pops up with some text, release the keys, a menu will appera at the top of the screen with some options in it, you navigate the list using the volume rockers, select reboot system (it probs on this by default, when this is highlighted press the home key to reboot the tab?

Hello,
I just tried to isntall gingerbread on my GT, and no error were shown in Odin.
But the tab never restarted at the end....
It's just stuck in a weird state :
- The screen is black but lightened
- the flash light is always on
- I can't stop it while connected to USB
- Download mode boot doesn't work

What can I do to solve this?

Thank you!

leave the device for some time to see of it is doing some checks

after my upgrade the device did the same and took 15 minutes or more for first boot up

after this normal service resumed and booting takes less than a minute (about 15 seconds faster than froyo)

What step of the instructions did you get to.

Try this

Hold power and volume up. Hold the power button for about 4-5 seconds and let go of the power button but still hold the volume up and see if the tab will let you into recovery.

If so wipe cache and wipe data/factory reset. See if that will get you back up.

Hi people,

I have just got a Galaxy Tab just for kicks. It's a P1000L brazilian one.

I want to unbrand it (it's Claro branded, the operator took out Gmail and Gtalk, also assigned search to Yahoo instead of Google), so I have talked to a friend which also has a Galaxy Tab, same model, but unbranded, all Google apps inside.

My FW is (or was :( ) P1000LVJJJ4, and his FW is P1000LVJJM9, so I went to this thread, downloaded the P1000LVJJM9 FW, PIT file and ODIN 1.3.
http://www.thegalaxy...-firmware-list/

I have read about the process and started doing it. Here's what happened.

I haven't checked the partition option, just put the PIT file and the FW file in the correct fields, put my Tab in download mode, clicked start... and after some time, almost at the end, ODIN failed. My Tab got stuck in download mode, yellow triangle. I got it disconnected from the USB cable, than put it again. Restarted the process, but ODIN got stuck in setup connection.

I took my Tab off the usb cable again, it was still stuck in download mode, yellow triangle. Pressed the power button for a while, it has turned off completely. Now it's bricked, maybe dead. No life signal, nothing happens when I press any button or button combination, nothing is shown when connected to the charger or USB, not recognized in KIES and ODIN, nothing at all.

Is there any hope for me? What can I do to solve this?

Hold the power button with the up volume button for a few seconds until the recovery options screen comes up and then quickly take your finger off the power button.

Use your volume buttons to go up and down the list of options and highlight factory reset. Hit the home button on the bottom of the tab and pray.

Just a note to anyone out there willing to flash their tabs. . . . .please go and read how to put your device into recovery before you start doing ANYTHING that you dont know how to do.

And if all you wanted to do was get rid of the junk from Google why not just root it and get either Titanium backup or an app freezer and uninstall them? ?

I have already tried that, and I can't put it in recovery mode. It doesn't answer at all.

I want Google stuff on it, not to take Google stuff out of it.
