I just brought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. After playing aroung with it for a while I've noticed the following discrepancies in performance with the unit that I have
1. The best buy app barcode scanner that I've tried to use in the local Best Buy store to check some reviews of the merchandise does'nt work, I can't get the the scanner to seccessfully scan one item, also a few other bar code scanner apps don't seem to work either. I've checked to camera setting and everything seems to be ok there however I noticed that when trying to use the best buy barcode scanner the camera seems to be trying to focus going in and out but cannot successfully scan a barcode.
2. When I try to download a app from android market, the download freezes and says "Waiting to install" and just stays there. and the only way I can complete the download is to disable the wi-fi connection and then reenable it
3. At verious times when connected to my Samsung SCH-LC11 Verizon mobile Wi-Fi LTE hotspot the connection just freezes and again I have to disable and then reenable the Wi-Fi to get the connection going again. None of this happens with my Apple Ipod Touch 4th Gen
Can anybody who has a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Tell me if they are having simular problems. I suspect that I have a defective unit but I just want to be sure before I RMA it back to samsung. You prompt replies will be appreciated.

1. Yeah, some times it can be difficult to use a bar-code scanner. The apps have issues sometimes, hey, what can you do.
2. Make sure you have a good connection, do you have the WiFi only?
3. Maybe you get to far away? I'm not 100% sure on this one. Possibly could be a fault of the tab.
4. I personally have a 10.1 but have played around with many 8.9's. Also I've done a lot of tech support for them and done tons of research. I've never heard of the 3rd problem happening...

Ditto! I have both 8.9 and 10.1 Tabs and use them every day with a WiFi connection to a 3G source (MiFi or phone) and never had such problems.
