My family have three Samsung Galaxy Tabs.

I have successfully upgraded two of them. The third refuses to upgrade and says it has the latest firmware.

I have downloaded the latest Kies software. I am in the UK.
Model number GT- P1000.
Firmware 2.2.
Baseband version P1000XXJMA.
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 root@DELL104#1.
Build number FROYO.XWJMI.
Does anyone have any ideas why it does not ugrade to Gingerbread like the others? or how I can overcome this difficulty>

Your is exactly identical to mine and sadly no upgrade has been forthcoming, despite it being over a year old.

No idea.... Mine is the same and there is a thread with us moaning as it seems the xeus have been forgotten by samsung... Even the 1010 has just been upgraded to 2.3.6

Samsung support were next to useless but it was fun trying them anyways :)

I'm having exactly the same problem with the one my daughter got for Christmas, with identical settings to yours. She's got loads of apps for Gingerbread and she can't use them on the tab until it's upgraded. I'm new to flashing, and I'm scared of going down to unofficial route, as I'd like confirmation that it works with P1000XXJMA.
Any help or walkthroughs would be much appreciated.
Thanks

There is a really good thread on how to flash on this forum

However remember once you flash there is no way back :)

Thanks, I've had a look at the walkthrough, but I need to look at backup apps like Titanium to make sure I can restore it if it goes belly up.
Does the free version of Titanium do the job? Thanks

I contacted Samsung and got this reply

In response to your query, please be advised that our updates are released in phases for our Galaxy devices. An updates release depends on the network the device is on, the baseband, and build number of the device. All updates have to be significantly tested onall types of devices to ensure compatibility. We are hoping to have all our Galaxy Tablets updated to the Gingerbread update within the coming weeks. We apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience.

I'll give it a week or two and see what happens

check your Settings, Wireless & Network, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names

may need re-setting or re-downloading from your service supplier
