Hi Guys

Only very new to this forum. I'm tring to connect my seagate 2TB external expansion self powered desktop hard drive with no joy.
I have tried reformatting to FAT32 And also smaller partitions of 500TB @ FAT32 with no luck also tried using a powered USB hub even though it has its own with still no luck.
I would really appreciate any help

Thank you.

I presume you have a Tab 10.1 (as you posted in this section), & are trying to connect with a Samsung USB adaptor

see the videos & comments on this previous post :- http://www.thegalaxy...dpost__p__33908

the only ways I know to connect to an external Hard drive with a Tab are via Wi-Fi on a home ntwork or with a Wi-Fi enabled independant Hard drive

Hello.
I am a new owner of a Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I bought the samsung usb connection kit and tried to connect a usb key (8GB fat32) and I can access and view the files on key.
So I try to connect my external hard drive (2TB).
Of course, with ntfs file system is not seen from glaxy. Then I tried to reformat it to FAT32.
With a single partition galaxy "freezes". Screen goes black and I have to turn it off with power button.
Then I tried to make smaller partitions. First I tried with a 32GB partition, then with a 16GB and finally with a 6GB but all three times the galaxy initially sees the partition but then it automatically disconnects from the device with a generic error.
I would like to know if anyone has tried to do same experiments and had similar problems or have used some techniques in particular.
On tablet is installed on the original ROM.
The HD is a verbatim.
Thank you very much.
Greetings.

I do not know if partitioning can solve the issue, but I believe Samsung has specified in the user manual that storage more than 32GB will not be detected on 10.1. so 8/16 GB USB drives can be detected, but not 2 TB HDD, even with partitioning.

Will someone correct me if am wrong on the above? Thanks.
