Hi Galaxy Tabbers,

I am planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab but I still have some question on the tab functions:

1. Will I be able to listen to my iTunes music in the tab? How do I transfer the musics, from the PC or directly from my iPod (I dont think the tab has USB port)?

2. Will I be able to buy musics from iTunes from the tab?

3. Will I be able to read my Kinde books/magazines in the tab? How?

4. Will I be able to buy Kindle books from Amazon Kindle Store from the tab?

5. Will Android 2.2 be upgradable to Android 3.0?

I don't know where you are located, but I am in the good ol' USA and I just downloaded the Galaxy Tab User Guide from Sprint's web site because that is my cell service provider. According to what I have read, you can download files from your PC directly to your Tab's microSD card after following the directions in the book, which for me is exactly the same as I do for copying files to/from my current cell phone (Sprint's Galaxy Epic 4G), which is the same as it has been for several of my past smartphones. If you haven't already contacted a local service provider, I suggest you find out where the nearest one is to see if they have the Tab yet, and go see it in person and get some info straight from the source.

The Tab is so new in the U. S. that there are few "experts" on it yet, but from the directions in the Tab User Guide, you should have no problem copying your music, photo, ebook, and other files to your Tab by using the USB cable included in the box.

You can use the USB cable to connect to your PC and use the Tab as an external hard drive... so you only have to copy the musics

You can install the kindle on your Tab and buy/download books directly from the amazon store, and import others from the sd card.

According to what Samsung said, yes! Google CEO just announced through a WEB 2.0 Conference that next Android version is expected to be released in the "next few weeks".

Sorry but I don't think you will be able to, taking into account the "tablet race" between Android and Apple. You can save the songs that are not protected from itunes on your computer and later transfer them on Galaxy Tab

You can absolutely sync your Tab with iTunes. Download a program called iTunes Agent. You make a playlist in iTunes, then start iTunes Agent and it syncs whatever is in the playlist to your Tab. I did it this morning, and it works flawlessly!
As for the Kindle app, it is incredible! I traded my iPad to my wife so I could buy the Tab. reading the ebooks are much more comfortable because of thw size factor.

Thanks for letting us know. Those are quite useful information. I am sure @António will appreciate it. I never thought you can import your songs from iTunes on a Android device.

I also use the Kindle app and it's really great. I will add these two in the app section

You can transfer non protected music. If you still have drm protected music files from iTunes, they will not work on the tab. The same goes for video purchased on iTunes, they will not work if copy protected.

Hi, I cannot find the Kindle download anywhwere. On Amazon it says to go to the Market on the ab, but on the Market it is not available. Any ideas?

I cant seem to download itunes agent. I get the message 'content not supported'. My application settings is set to allow unknown sources. I have tried sourceforge and softonics. I got my tab for xmas so just learning! Any ideas?

I am really stuggling here. I bought my Galaxy Tab in the UK on my way to Dubai where I work. I cannot download any application from the market. It says "Starting Download" and hangs there forever. Is this something to do with the regional issue? As far as Kindle is concerned, I cannot even find it on the market!

Any ideas please?

i have a nook color as well as gt.
i use moon reader on gt. like it much better than nook or kindle software. i don't know about notes. don't know of any reader software lets you do that. nook does, though.

The Google books app has a feature that lets you jump to the contents, then from there jump to any given chapter, but only on the books it was able to digitize in that format, of which there are many and they are free.

The Kindle app will let you highlight text, make notes on it, search in the book for that text as well as wikipedia, or dictionary.com It also has a go to option which lets you jump to the cover, table of contents or a location based on page. (note: the "page" is the kindle page, not the actual page, majorly annoying aspect of the app) EDIT: Also, the Kindle app will let you search for a word or phrase you type in. I have to admit, I've actually been pretty impressed with it, it is free, there are a ton of free books and you can of course buy books for it. I'm new to the ebook thing, I have only one. Conceptually the idea bothered me at first, but I am warming up to it for some books.

In general, I have found reading on the tab to be fantastic, with ease on par to the nook/kindle and if anything, all the other features it provides make it easily trump those two if you want an ereader.

It's fine, looks nice, but reading on the Kindle is much easier on the eyes.

I use the Kindle reader also and this it is very good. You can adjust the brightness, text and background colours to suit and I find I can read for over an hour with no eye strain at all.

You can also get software on the PC to convert any ebook into the Kindle format and this makes even more free ebooks available.

Samsung Galaxy tab will not support iTunes m4p format, the purchased iTunes songs are protected by DRM in m4p format, to play the iTunes music on the tab, you should first remove the DRM and then convert the m4p format to mp3 format with a converter, Noteburner audio converter seems to be a great such m4p to mp3 converter, you can log on their website for getting more information: http://www.noteburner.com

I have also use the youtubedownloader software to convert music I have brought on iTunes into MP3 files for windows media player with no problems at all. I am assuming that I can convert TV shows downloaded from iTunes into MPEG files for media player?
