I just received my Galaxy Tab. The Android Market doesnt seem to work, any download ends with "Download Unsuccessful" or "Download Paused".

I am connected to the local wifi-network and i have excellent signal strength. Any other thing works fine.
I have tried the "clear cache"-trick, and even did a reset to factory defaults.

Any tips?

Hello. Try this solutions and tell me if they solve your problem :

Solution #1

In Settings -> Applications -> Market, click the button "Uninstall updates". Open market, log in again and see if it works.

Solution #2

Go in settings> SD card> Unmount. Then, turned off the tabled and remove the SD card. After waiting a few seconds, put the SD card and start it. Once the SD card properly loaded, it should work.

Hi Bogdi,
I dont have any SD card, and i cannot see any "Uninstall updates" in Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> Market. I have tried clearing the memory, but it will not work.

I have tried downloading in 3g-mode aswell (no wifi) -> doesnt work

Those two solution have been reported that fixed the problem. It seems that a lot of people are experiencing problems with the market at the moment.

Here are some more :

Solution #3

SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS

Once in manage applications, click the menu button and select filter and filter by all.

Now delete the data AND cache for the following applications (if you only get the option to delete one or the other, then do what is available):

Download Manager
Google Apps
Google Talk Service
Google Talk Storage
Internet
Market
Talk

Solution #4 :

Go to settings> applications> manage applications >all >market > force stop >clear chache(BEFORE NEXT CLEAR) >clear data. Back to main menu > click on market >reinstall market!

Google Apps
Google Talk Service
Google Talk Storage

And Internet = Browser?

Solution 4 wont work either. I clicked force stop > cache greyed out > clear data. When i click on market i get the licence agreement. How do i reinstall market?

Go to settings> applications> manage applications >all >market > force stop >clear chache(BEFORE NEXT CLEAR) >clear data. Back to main menu > click on market >reinstall market!

Yes, I think internet = browser. I am not sure how it's displayed on Galaxy Tab but should be the same because it has android.

Did you try after each solution to download to see if it gives u the same problem?

Accept the licence agreement and try to download. Let me know about the results. It seems it's a worldwide problem. These 4 fixes helped lots of people.

Hi,

Like i said before, it just wont work. I've tried downloading after each single solution.
Since the unit has this problem with a factory reset, i think that it might a very common problem when the tab hits the stores.

Thankful for any solution.

It's not only the tab. Lots of users that own different type of phones (that run android) have the same problem. It seems that the problem is with the application "market" and is not users fault. Google should do something quickly to fix this problem.

I don't have any other solutions at the moment. Sorry that this happened as a new Galaxy Tab owner.

I will update with other fixes when they are available and will update this subject until the problem is solved either by us, the users or either by Google.

To everyone else : if you have any information regarding this problem, please post your solutions in here. Thank you.

Today it all worked out. The "remove update" for Android Market had appeared. I removed it, and now everything works.

I am glad to hear that. Did you use again one of the solutions above so I can add them in a tutorial documentation?

Living in Kuwait using the IMEI i now have MARKET. There seems to be a lot of cannot find responses. I tried to download a printer driver from brother using the QR file not found. Went to market again file not found. And they don't have the download on their site. This is frustrating

Hi, I have recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I am having the same problem accessing the Market. I have tried all the fixes described here and I have been in contact with Google but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

On PC open Android Market, sign in (with the same Gmail account & password you use on the Tab), scroll to botom of the page, click "My Market Account"
click Settings, in My devices, do you see your Tab ? .......... if not click "Don't see your device?"

on the Tab, double check you are using the correct Gmail account & password, try to download a free app (you can uninstall later)

Thanks for your response. The Tab is listed, but there doesn't appear to be any option to check the GMail account settings. There is an edit function but the account settings aren't shown. I did log on to the Google server and the settings of the account are consistent with the settings on the Tab.
One thing I noticed was that when I was trying to download an app I had the option of dowloading to another device. I added my Samsung Galaxy S11 phone and the app downloaded to the phone without difficulty but not to the Tab. What is also interesting is that all of the things that are missing from the Tab e.g "uninstall updates" arte on the phone.

if the Tab is listed on the PC Android Market, on the PC Android Market, select a free app, click Install,
in the "Choose device on which to install", select your Tab & click Install
see if the market downloads it to your Tab that way (Tab must be internet connected)

if that fails, double check the "username@gmail.com" & "Password" you are using on the Tab is exactly the same as you used on the PC
(caution with the Tab auto caps when logging in)
