To anyone interested, I see the new Tab 7.7 is for sale at simply electronics. Have never used this company so don't know if they are any good, but they claim to have stock.

Prices are - £429.95 for 16GB WiFi only and £529.95 for 16GB WiFi & 3G

Free Delivery is included.

Seems a bit odd as I havn't found any of the major retailers to have any stock so take with a pinch of salt.

Anyone have experience of said company ?

Count me interested but a quick google search reveals these lot not to be the most trustworthy of companies.

I believe they get their goods from Hong Kong where the 7.7 was recently announced so they could be onto something.

But I don't think it's in the shops over there making their claims of having stock a bit unbelievable.

I actually emailed these lot the other day asking them to confirm they had stock but surprise surprise, no response.

Tread carefully.

I bought a DAB radio from Simply a couple of months back and had no issues. I had also spotted that they were listing the 7.7".

Hopefully not too much longer to wait.

I'm very tempted to order one, but not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from the company. Sold my Tab today so now Tab-less.

I think I'll hang fire until I see them available elsewhere from a more "well known" source

I did buy one yesterday on Am X, so if anything weird or it doesn't happen as advertised, I will cancel and can always put a stop payment with Am X. (they are great that way) This way I am giving them a chance to provide as advertised, but if not, protecting myself.I did receive an email stating "thanks for your order" and order will ship within 2 working days and be received within 3 to 8 working days. It is now the next day and have received nothing further. I will update as appropriate going forward to either receiving, yes I too will provide photos, or the cancellation, and why I cancelled.

It makes no sense to me why they have stock and Samsung hasn't announced, but figured worth a try. They do get from overseas and there are some people out there that seem to have one, so we shall see.

Simplyelectronics.com is a scam. Be careful. Samsung would not just give their tab 7.7 to one retailer and be sold for $700 at the first bite of the game. "It is too good to be true. It's probably not true." There are a lot of scammers feeding on the desperation or impatience of gadget lovers all the time. They will take your money first and hope that the legal remedy is not there, so that you can't recoup and they get to keep your money. Have a little patience, wait until the playing field is filled with players, then you know the gadgets are out. I'm speaking from experience. China has unbelievable scammers. They can spend the time to create a whole website just to scam others because they are professionals scamming 24/7...as simple as that!

To name Simplyelectronics as scam is a bad move. They apparently have a very good reputation, they are selling for several years already and yes, there have been some issues if you search the web. But: the ones who are happy with their purchase only rarely tell about that in forums, you will mostly hear from people having had a poor experience. They have sold almost 15,000 items on Amazon and have a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars. That's very reasonable.

They prefer Paypal payment themselves so the purchaser is on the safe side: doesn't the item arrive just open a case within 45 days after purchase, tell Paypal and you will get your money back, as simple as that!

I await the outcome of this with baited breath.
I've been emailing these lot myself, most recently requesting a pictures of their actual stock before I make a purchase. I got this;

"Thank you for your e-mail.

Kindly refer to our website for the picture of the product you are interested in purchasing.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter."

Not the most ideal of responses and all their answers have been a bit evasive. Like you say, you are protected through your credit card company so it's not too risky.

I hope it all works out for you as I'll be all over this like a shot if it does.

Didn't happen. Received email said ship 1 to 2 days, then nothing. I waited over weekend and contacted again Monday, no response. I immediately cancelled order and filed complaint with Am X to freeze the money. I received this am an email cancelling the order, which is still in process. Am X complaint handles any monies being sent, so all is good. I can't say anything bad, but I can't say anything good either, and the promised ship date didn't happen, and I gave it 3 additional days, then decided enough is enough. It wasn't believable to begin with, but worth a try.

It is a shame, as I won't ever bite on any offers they have in the future.

I ordered one and got an email saying that their entire shipment was damaged and did I want to order something else at a compareable price. I asked for my money back.

I didn't order but I asked them if they really have them in stock. This is what they wrote today:

Our stock is very much dependent upon our suppliers and unfortunately we currently do not have any update from them in regards to this product. However, as we are always updating our inventory, we would suggest that you check back in a week's time for any changes.

Many thanks anyway for taking the time and trouble to try and for posting the outcome. If nothing else it gives a view of how the company does business which is always usefull to people. I don't think they have done themselves any favours in this instance !

I have wrote now 7 Emails i want my money back. No response!!! I think i loose 600 euros becuase ive payd with moneybookers! I dont know maybe the police in England can do something else:-( I am very glad at the Moment and no chance to get my Money Back. Its a big shame for this company!!!!!

I don't belive they are crooks, but rather lacking in the support side of things. I would maybe try phoning them on 0844 499 0616 (customer service) and speaking to them. On a slightly more positive note, there are some reports surfacing that the 7.7 release date may be very soon as all appropriate certification is now in place for it to go on sale. This is speculation by various tech writers, but there may be some truth to it. You may endup with a 7.7 through them after all.

Hey, there is plenty of evidence here showing that this website is scamming people. Wake up! Scamming techniques are evasive, delaying, test of patience.... If you pay through an authorized middle agent, you are lucky to get your money back. Those pay through Western Union or the similar are shit out of luck. Learn your lessons: "If it is too good to be true, it's probably not..." Professional scammers who can create a complete scam website can easily create fake feedbacks. Believe me... these guys are professional scammers with professional IT backgrounds. They are no ordinary crooks.
