ICS aosp is now officially up for the devs to work on :yahoo: ................****video progress on ics port scroll down****

What does this mean for me -

If you have a stock rom gtab then it means hopefully Samsung will get the finger out and get it ported to your slate but it may be a while.

I use Overcome or a n other custom rom - it means the devs can now start working on an ICS version to get you ahead of the game and onto a (hopefully) better version of Android with more tablet orientated apps, games and better features!

***NOTE*** please dont ask "when will i" or any silly questions..........have patience :D

Hi all, first post.

I picked up a tab 10.1 (Wifi) today, and as I was playing around with it, I figured I would upgrade to ice cream sandwich.

The whole process went just fine, until the end. I cannot access the market place, nothing will sync, and more importantly, I can't revert back to honeycomb. Essentially, I have a tab that is only useful for internet browsing right now.

Does anyone have any idea on how to revert back to Honeycomb? I have been searching across the net for hours trying to find a solution, but I'm not finding anything (or its not working for me).

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is not going to get official ICS, despite of much discussions and rumors.

Oh Yes it is, see post #33 :D

You can update the galaxy tab 10.1 it unofficially, though.

I hate samsung for this reason,I believe other countries get THERE FIRMWARE much faster, AND SAMSUNG doesn't really care about US release. They have achieved much more than their target in Tablet sales. They are very revenue obsessed.I DID NOT THINK OF THIS BEFORE BUYING MY Galaxy 10.1 Tablet .I WOULD DEFINITELY GO FOR AN IPAD 3 NEXT TIME.

You should never buy a Tablet for the OS you hope to get.......you should buy it for the OS that it has, and then any upgrade will be a bonus.

It's not true that the US get their upgrades later than anyone else....Samsung aren't the fastest with their upgrades, but they're not the slowest either.

Having said that, your "all too powerful" ISP's over there don't help any Manufacturer by very often insisting on their own special OS formats.

Your just going to have to be patient, after all, it's not like your Tab doesn't work well on the OS you already have.....

PS: .... if your thinking of going for a iPad 3 ( New iPad ) next time......... they have big problems of their own....and it's NOT because they don't have the latest OS on-board...

it will get it eventually......

Samsung generally roll out updates by region and supplier so its just a case of holding on in there and waiting.
Unfortunately only Samsung know when exactly that will happen......and even at that there can be delays.
