Hi,
I had a successfully installed version of Skype running on my Galaxy Tab.
After I uninstalled the Skype I can no longer reinstall Skype.
After successfully downloading Skype from the Market an installation error is given: "Insufficient space".
This is not the case as there is more than enough memory available on the device.
Any suggestions??

Unable to reinstall SKYPE
Posted 04 January 2011 - 02:42 PM (#2)
Had the same problem and did some web research on it. Solution seems to be removing a file in the /data directory. And to do this you need to root the device. In my case I was using a version of skype that allowed for calls over 3g and tried to replace it with the official version.
I decided to do a factory reset and reinstall (only a week old and no data to speak of). I will try to find the link and update the post later.
UPDATE: Here is the post I was referring to. It suggests rooting the device and following a set of steps. I don't know the board's position on rooting the device so I will only link to the message. What I can tell you is that YANA.... (you are not alone).

One of the Skype representatives from that forum said he will "pass it on" so maybe a future version of Skype will not have this issue.

It is really bad when a tech for one of the major wireless companies is telling people to root their device..Skype you need to step in and help or we will have to turn to other software..

I had the same problem but for some reason I am unable to root my Tab. So I just did a factory restore and that fixed the problem.

Have to root (I used z4root) your device then via Root Explorer delete the Skype file that remains when uninstalled. A flaw in Skype.
