Hi All,

pretty new to the tablet experience so slight noob on it but i have the KIES software on my laptop and obviously trying to connect to it via the usb cable.
Yet it pops up an error and says Cannot start service on the device, Please disconnect then reconnect the device, i have done this yet it still comes up with the same error i can still transfer files over by the normal windows method

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can check for an update to Kies, not surprisingly, in Kies :)

Did the new one function as expected? Just trying to establish if it was a PC or GT problem. Im having a nightmare with mine. My Vista and XP machines will not show the device as connected in device manager. Thanks.

Hi, I just would like to know if the fact that my GT-P1010 is rooted could has anything to do with the lack of connection to kies! I ask about this because, before I rooted the device, I did got it connected to kies without issues! Thanks for your time! ;)

Same problem here. The latest versions are very fragile, and unstable. I really don't know why Samsung is so bad in coding Kies

I'm still unable to connect to PC (Windows XP) using Kies. Reinstall Kies several times uploaded from samsung website. Once Kies opened, then connect the cable. On the PC this message appear,
" There was a problem installing this hardware: MTP. A service installation section in this INF is invalid".

Hi there,

I just bought a Galxy Tab 10.1 (SHW-M380W) in Korea and I have some issues with it, namely that it does not communicate properly with my PC via USB.

This is what I experince: when I plug in my GT, most of the time my pc recognizes it and starts working properly, but then very soon (usually less than 30sec) the communication slows down dramatically. If i try to copy files to the GT from the Pc it stops. After a minute it gets so slow that if I want to open folders in the GT in Explorer, it takes a long time...

This is what I did so far to fix the problem

- downloaded Kies and upgraded my device - didnt help
- In Kies I tried to reinstall the driver the way Kies offers it
- downloaded MTP driver pack from the Mycosorb website - didnt work

Interestingly, I can communicate between my PC and GT in Kies through wifi if i connect them, but this doesnt solve my original issue.

Did you meet this problem? can you help?

Thanks
