Hello fellow Galaxy Tab users...well at least I am trying to join the club. I work for samsung and we received a atat model galaxy tab for christmas this year. I have my wifi set up and used it to try to register my product but it kept telling me that my serial number wasn't valid. I left the store purchase blank because I didn't receive it at a store. Even when I pretended by selecting best buy it still informed me that my serial number wasn't valid. Now the serial number or at least what I believe to be, is on the back of my tab on the botton preceeded by S/N:.

I have not yet activated through atat. Do I have to before I can register my tab? I have no interest in buying a plan since I have wifi readily available.

I also have a lot of digital copy movies that I wish to add to my device once it is working properly. I plug it into my computer and I have the kies option. I select it but it won't do anything because it is looking for updates or a cd? My tab did not come with a cd. I am also using a MAC. What must I do in order to be able to just drag and drop movies onto my device?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I had the same problem registering. What I did was to copy the SN from a word document and then paste it into the registration page. Was told to do this from a Samsung rep on help line. It worked for me. As for video connect via usb and then copy to your sdhc memory card. Hope this helps.

I will give this a try! Thank you. I do not have a memory card yet. I thought I could use the internal storage?

You need to insert your serial number only........ignoring any slashes/dashes etc.

I was moving movies to the tab when I noticed my space was only 3 gbs or so. I removed one of the movies but my space was now at 1.67 gb's. I saw a lost.dir file containing 2 files one 33mb and the other about 1.4gbs etc. Is this saving things I delete or keeping a marker there?

I did the mount usb thing to my mac. I saw the tab folder. I moved a movie into the space to see if it would work. The one movie did work the other 2 did not. Am I doing the right thing moving the files over this way or?

For me, I mounted via usb. Initially tried to put them on the micro sd, but media scanner seemed to erase them. Copied them to the GT direct, put them in a folder called Movies. The scanner found them. One I had ripped was bad on sound, the others were ok but a little lacking in details (ripped them to small). Previous dvd rips on avi at 1.4gb ran crisp on sound and video so I guess its the encoding.

Oh my, indeed. I came here looking for answers, but if someone working for Samsung is having problems with product registration... I read all the replies. One person advised copying the SN from a word document. What document would that be exactly, and where do I find it? I don't know if I could open it anyway, not having Word. Then there's "I was actually using the S/N on the back and not the imei that it wanted" What is imei? And the registration instructions tell you to look at the back, but when I tried it didn't work. It has something that looks like CE and then a zero, letter O or circle with a ! in it. Are those part of the serial number?
