Hello,

Two days ago, my Galaxy P1010 Tab purchased a month ago in the U.S. and brought here in the Philippines, suddenly hanged on me right after completing its charging process. None seems to be working (the unlock icon, the speaker icon, the Home, Return, or Search Keys). Even powering off the unit from the screen does not seem to respond. I searched the net for solutions and I manage to run across one advise with the same problem instructing to give the unit a soft boot (Power Button + Volume Up), once I did so, the unit indeed entered into the boot mode (with the 4 choices), however, the Home Key nor any other of the touchscreen keys still does not seem to function. Powering Off then On, thereafter always brings me to the same screen. So, searching the net once again for a possible solution, I came across a suggestion at http://droidangel.bl...te-samsung.html which I followed to the letter, using Odin v.1.7 and P1010XWKB8. The flash process seemed successful at first since I did get the PASS remark, unfortunately, my unit never did reboot and all I got was a dark screen. I repeated the flash procedure, this time using P1010XWKC1-OXX, this resulted to failure with my unit still showing a dark screen. Also, I noticed even when my Galaxy P1010 tab was still working, that the KIES I downloaded here in the Philippines seems not to recognize my unit whenever I plug it into my computer. Is this a problem with firmware and location compatibility?

I did try using the Asian (Hongkong version) P1010ZHKF1 firmware (advise came from another website source) yesterday to re-flash my seemingly bricked SGT after the failed initial flash with the P1010XWKB8 and the P1010WKC1-OXX I did earlier, and this time the flashing process seemed succesful having gotten a "PASSED" response from Odin 1.7. Unfortunately, while my SGT-P1010 did reboot up to the "Unlock" screen, none of the touchcreen keys still responds (which was the initial problem I encountered before I decided to undertake the Flashing procedure). I also tried connecting the unit to Kies hoping there might be some solution available there which can restore my SGT to its normal state (from what I read from others blogs). While my laptop and KIES now detects and recognizes the device now that I have re-flashed my unit to the Asian Firmware (apparently compatibility of location and firmware installed seems to be of relevance to successfully connect the device to KIES), no solution to my frozen touchscreen keys was offered and KIES apparently returns a message of "no updates available". Today I tried re-flashing the unit again with the same Asian Firmware, and is still getting the same results, unresponsive touchscreen keys.

If there is anyone out there who somehow had experienced this same trouble and managed to resolve it, I would really appreciate some help as I have been searching the net for 3 days now for every possible solution even sending a mail to Samsung Support, unfortunately getting no response as yet. Thanks!

I seem to be having the same issue. One day the unit was working fine and the next the touch screen is unusable. I also tried doing the reset on it and am not stuck in the reset screen and can not continue because the home button will not work for selecting anything. Let me know if anyone has found a solution for this.

My friends, the roms listed in droidangel for p1010, are for the european version of the p1010, :-) so I do think you have bricked your tabs just by flashing a wrong rom :( I believe you should try and find a especific rom for your model of p1010, surely an american version of it. I know this for sure because I have flashed these roms on my european p1010 with success everytime. best regards
