The normal way to remove applications is via settings, although core Apps very often cannot be removed.

If you can find the apps you wish to remove by the following method, then you have a good chance of getting rid of them....

Go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications.

Select the App you wish to remove and a new window will appear with an Uninstall option box.

Select Uninstall and follow instructions from there.....

Second Method.

Touch Applications and then the Menu key then Edit.
Applications that can be removed will have a minus sign next to their names.
Touch the Minus Sign to remove an application.
Touch OK to confirm the selection.
Touch the Menu key then Save to save the change.

I understand that gaining root access is ncessary and have read how to do it but what do you do after that?

Do the core apps suddenly become removeable ie. A minus sign when editing apps page?
