Hi tut

from what I know from the other members most people are using 16Gb class 4 cards. One of our members Bart Laroc will be back in an hour or so and he will be able to point you in the right direction.

If you search in "User help section" topic copying SD cards, you may have an answer there.

The GT-P1000 should be able to use MicroSD cards up to 32Gb capacity.....so use the Tab's internal format function on the card and see if that helps.

If the card still isn't recognised, then you could have a faulty card......where did you get it from ?

If you have a PC you could also get a USB SDHC card reader very cheaply from Ebay or similar, and try to format it via the Reader, on your PC, but please make sure that the Reader is compatible with 32Gb cards.....some only go up to 16Gb.

sounds like it may be a "bad" card ..... In Menu mode, select Settings → SD card and phone storage → Unmount SD card → Format SD card → Format SD card → Erase everything.

if it still does not show up on the Tab & cannot be viewed on the PC when Tab is connected as Mass Storage, i would inform supplier & ask for a replacement or refund

Do a google search for "h2testw". Put the sd card in your pc and run this program and it will test the card for you.

For what it's worth, I have a new no name brand 32 gb class 4 card and have no problems. could it be the class of the card is to fast? Is it possible that the hardware cannot read higher class cards? the higher classes really only benefit those who take lots of photos in rapid succession and serious gamers. For normal everyday use just about any class of card will do.

Does the microSD card work when used in other devices? (ie PC). Just so it can be isolated if it's really a bad card or a problem with the GT.

I've also read somewhere that there are bad cards being sold in the net. Hopefully you are not one of those victims.

The MicroSD card will work in a PC, provided you have a suitable USB card reader. There are hundreds of very reasonably priced readers available on eBay.

Just type "micro sdhc reader" into the eBay Search window......
