You might like to try this.....

To cut, copy and paste a part of text in a field

1. Tap and hold the text field for about 2 seconds.

2. Tap Select text.

3. Drag your finger across the text you’d like to cut or copy.

4. Tap and hold the selected text until a menu appears.

5. Select Cut or Copy as desired.

6. Navigate to where you would like to paste the text.

7. Tap where you’d like the text to appear, then tap and hold the text field for about 2 seconds..

8. Tap Paste.

Is there something painfully obvious that I'm missing here? Copy and paste works flawlessly for me, everywhere EXCEPT in the default Email program. I use Exchange, and I cannot copy text from any email sent to me. Plain text or HTML, it doesn't matter. Even if I try replying or forwarding the message, the original text is not editable, nor can it be selected or copied.

So as far as I can tell, that is the ONLY place on the Galaxy Tab where this functionality is disabled. It works fine in Gmail, but I can't get my Exchange email that way. What I want to know is WHY!? I don't understand. This is where I would use copy and paste the most! I work in IT Administration, and I frequently need to copy information from an email and paste it into a browser or another email message. This is maddening!

There are other apps that support Exchange, but sadly, none of them support multiple Exchange accounts within the same application. I use Exchange for both my home and work email, so this is a non-starter for me. I'm otherwise satisfied with the Email app that Samsung bundled with the Galaxy Tab, but I desperately need copy and paste functionality enabled.

I tried in the email program to copy a link from Dolphin HD to the default Email and it works....I also tried the text that I input from the Evernote app and it works.

Hmmm so when you hold your hand on the screen there is no "Paste"?

A short-term fix would be to just forward to gmail and c/p from there.

HELP!

I bought this for work so that I could copy, edit and paste articles when I didn't have my laptop with me. My big problem is that I can't paste the articles into the website. I've looked around and I can't find a Gingerbread-enabled keyboard with a CTRL key.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Exactly this is completly daft I often want to edit a mail before sending on and you cant in the default email app

I tried K9 which is a bit plan and boring IMO but it will let you copy and paste as much as you can see on the screen (ie it wont dynamically scroll down) of the previous mail you then paste it in to your reply and delete the original part using the button

The other anoying thing in the default email is if you look at your sent messages you cannot see what you replied to or forwarded, just your typed message appears

This is crap at best

If anyone can help me with highlite, copy, paste I would appreciate it. I use it many times a day on my desktop. Is there a way to use it on the Tab? If so, is it only accessable in certain situations? ie: Can it be used when reading a book? An article in a newspaper? An e-mail?
Many thanks -
Doofus

I'm sure this topic has been knocked around a.bit before, but I need some clarification.
I'm having a real hard time figuring out how to complete this action. whether its in a msg, web page, or e-mail, I can't figure out how to do it.

I press the text field (when available) and nothing happens. Is there a full tutorisl on the finer points of operating this device?

What about if you want to copy text from s web page where there is no text field?

Not available in the default email you need to use K9 else web pages may or may not have restrictions and not nessassary to do with the GT fuctionality especially on flash sites

Works for me

Although the formating has gone walkabout.

M 1. 8. Tap Paste.

It appears the best method is to swipe left to right which activates a dialogue box from which you can select a range of Options
