Is it possible to recover a picture or other files I dropped on the "remove" (trash) icon? I can't seem to find a trash folder.
I know new user error, I was experimenting. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Thanks
Doug

There is an Undelete App in the Market.....but your Tab needs to be rooted, and you won't, of course, restore overwritten or corrupt files...

I created my account here specifically to ask this question with hopes that some tablet genius can help me.

Here is my story...

*)I downloaded Google drive to my tablet,

*)began to transfer photos from my Tab to Google drive (I was out of room on the tab). No more than 5 minutes in, my tab froze.

*)I tried to restart my tablet, and it did the Samsung logo reboot freeze/loop.

*)I accessed the service menu several times to try to get it to reboot and it kept cycling back to the Samsung logo.

*)I then decided that my only option was to go into the service menu and do the factory reset.
My tab is back on, but naturally, all my photos and videos and everything else is gone.

I will literally pay thousands of dollars to recover my photos and videos of my kids that are no longer on my tab.

Someone please tell me that with the technology of this century, it can be done.

prior to the freeze/loop & factory reset, did you have : Settings, Accounts and sync,
[1] 'Background data' box checked ? ....
[2] 'Auto-sync' box checked ? ....

did you have : Settings, Privacy,
[3] 'Back up my data' box checked ? ....
[4] 'Automatic restore' box checked ? ....

have you checked your Google Drive account, via your PC, to see if any of the photos were copied ?

Hi, I gave my mom my galaxy tab which had some data and phone numbers on it that I need but she did one of those "return to factory settings" and though I know that it's hard to get the data back I'm hoping someone here knows someway to try and restore the data.

Thanks in advance

the stock 'mymemo' is not very good, especially if you are reliant on the notes you make,

much better to set up your Tab & PC with 'EverNote' :- http://evernote.com/

once you have installed evernote on your Tab & PC & created an account, all your notes are available immediately on both, you can also add attachments, record audio or dictate,
audio & dictate are saved as .amr files, which play in evernote when clicked, or can be saved on your PC & played in Quicktime (havn't found a codec for media player yet),
the .amr files can also be converted to .mp3 files (which can be played in media player)

you can also tap the camera icon & take a photo to save to a note as an attachment, & 'set location' (which is pretty accurate & located me within 100yds)

When I did that on my Tab 2 7" (P3113), the pictures on the main memory were still accessible. I just checked, and they are still there 2 months later.

You could download ES file explorer to the device and use that to find the file if it is still on the device

This might help as well
