Ask your ISP if they supply OTA updates...if they don't, then you have two options...

1) The safer method via Kies, but you have to wait until Samsung issues the update, and it's your turn.

2) By using a custom ROM...but to do this you need to make sure you have the correct ROM for your Model/Country, and necessary technical knowledge and instructions to do it. This is a less safe method, and is undertaken at your own risk You can look/ask for details of this in the ROMS section for your Model Type.

1) No...you should follow instructions exactly

2)Make sure your Tab appears in Kies, and that it's profile has fully loaded.

You will be asked if you want to back up your data and which categories you want to save. Depending on how many Contacts, Music, and Movies etc you have stored, this process could take some time.

When that has completed, the update file will then be automatically downloaded followed by the install on your Tab, which must no be interrupted until the process is complete and you are notified as such.

In that case it might be due to the quality of your Internet connection.

What type do you have ?

Have you also checked that you have the latest Kies installed ?

That's not a particularly fast connection. If you have Kies on a laptop, you could try on a different faster connection ?

Other than that, I can't advise you, and you would need to speak to Samsung about your problem.

Did you check that you were running the latest Kies ?

Yes bear with it. I never thought updating to GB was that minimum a risk with all my apps still present and functioning.

My upgrading process took 3 times as the first 2 times the internet connection was disrupted but the tab was not compromise. The third time it went through with no hiccups and 2.3.3 it is.

Hi All,

also new here. Just wanted to ask if anyone with the same GT build as mine already have the Gingerbread update? Can't seem to have the Gingerbread update through Kies. It's saying I already have the updated firmware (Froyo)

Basebrand version:P1000XXJMA
