I got a new Samsung Galaxy Tab from Verizon, and I will be out of the United States for a very long time, I am going to Mexico, so I don't think I will have signal over there and my galaxy tab will keep searching for a mobile signal, and that means that my battery will finish really fast, because it will keep searching and searching and searching. I was wondering how I would be able to disable the search of the signal so I don't run out of battery really fast.

Thanks in advance!

This only tells the Tab not to initiate a data session. The Tab will still attempt to camp onto a carrier. This is still a waste of power. I have been looking for the same but so far no luck.

Excuse me. Where did you get that from? Flight mode means disabling ALL wireless connections, including WiFi, bluetooth, and cellular.

Yes Flight Mode disables all wireless signals when you turn it on. It does not prevent you from turning the WiFi back on from the notifications bar. That's how I use my Tab most of the time.

My bad. You are right. Flight mode does work the way you described. Thanks.

Is this behavior a flaw of Flight Mode or a deliberate feature? Allowing WiFi inflight poses safety risks isn't it?
