I just got my Apple Wireless keyboard and I am using it to type this message. This is first time using the keyboard, it feels really good under my fingers! Very tactile, very small. It is about 1 1/2" wider on either side of the 7" tab (sitting landscape). It is nice having the ability to access the directional keys (up, down, left, right, etc). There is no "Del" key which traditionally sits at the bottom right hand side of the keyboard to quickly and easily delete text (I guess there's no room for it).

Pairing was easy enough. There's a text box that tells you to input a 5 or 6 digit number to pair the keyboard. Just input the numbers and press "Enter" to finish the pairing. A small (and I mean small) green light will appear in the upper right hand part of the keyboard to let you know that the keyboard is pairing.

I bought my keyboard used. It's in good condition but it definitely has scuffs on it. It's not enough to make me regret my purchase. Ok, I just tried the "hibernate" key on the keyboard (F4) and it works. F3 brings up the phone and contacts screen. F1 brings up the options menu. Text appears slowly, definitely not instantaneous which is a bit annoying. I can type and the text shows up about 2 seconds later on the screen, still much better than using the screen however because the tactile feedback is so darn good.

This keyboard is very small, light, and strong (made of aluminum construction) if you have ever seen it in the stores you will know that I'm not joking. It feels like a toy when you pick it up due to the weight. It's not the kind of keyboard you want for a desktop replacement, it is missing too many keys, but for the Playstation, or tablet it works quite well.

Made a vid to show you guys my current setup:
I really like it. I think it's neat. The case is an "Incase Origami for iPad". I got it today from Best Buy for $30. Expensive yes, but it's not popular and I couldn't find it on Ebay or Craigslist. It's actually a keyboard cover that is custom designed for the Apple A1314 keyboard. There's a plastic clip that the keyboard snaps into underneath.

When the cover isn't protecting the keyboard you can flip it up and use the velcro to tie the sides back and use it like a display stand (this is the part I really like). Because I now have a display stand, I don't have to worry about buying a display. This stand actually works really well because it's the perfect angle. It will also work with the 10" Galaxy Tab as well since it's supposed to work with the iPad.

One con for the Origami case is supposedly the velcro tabs become unglued over time. I saw this in the reviews. I could definitely see this happening since that velcro is a higher quality velcro (the whole keyboard case exudes a good quality) that is a little stickier than normal velcro's I'm used to working with. I'm not too worried about it. I'm sure if this happened I could glue it back or find some other alternative (maybe drill a hole and secure it with ties or even put in a snap enclosure).

Yea, the basics all work. But if you want the "Volume Up/Down" and other function buttons to all work, they don't. Only some of the function keys like "hibernate" and "phone" function (and a few others) work.

Attached is a pic of the keyboard, Origami case, and Panasonic speakers behind it (my portable home theater!). I have ordered a mini x2 speaker to replace the Panasonic.

@conncats actually the update to Gingerbread (I rooted using Odin) will allow me to make calls with my GTab. I'm using the TMobile version with an Apple bluetooth keyboard.

I'm using Apple A1314 with my Tmobile Tab seen here:
Posted Image

It works well for my purpose. Some of the function keys on the top like "hibernate" and "phone" work, but other function buttons like "Vol Up/Down" and "Eject" do not work. I guess there's really nothing to eject so I don't see how that button would ever work. I believe you can use any bluetooth keyboard, but for the money I thought the Apple keyboard was my best bet ($42 used, although it doesn't look used). I certainly didn't spend much on the case.

Anyone know if the Sprint Galaxy is now working with the HID Keyboard?

The new Sprint Galaxy Gingerbread Update available on Tuesday (July 5, 2011) is supposed to activate the HID bluetooth function. Lucky you! You get Gingerbread and finally get your bluetooth functionality. :)

The dock I'm using is an "Incase Origami" for Apple keyboard. It is specificallly made for the Apple A1314 keyboard and I really like it. It's a rubberized or hard plastic type of case (not sure which). It serves as a keyboard case when it is folded up. When open, you can pull back the sides and make a stand to hold the tablet. The stand is secured with velcro.

The Galaxy Tab Wifi (that would be the GT-P1010) does not support bluetooth for the Apple keyboard A1314 (see ' 00r101' post above).
The Galaxy Tab Wifi is really a totally different tablet with different hardware inside and everything. I believe some have said the Freedom Pro keyboard may work, you'll have to do a search for it. Sorry about that Paxio, I figured most people had read the thread about not buying the Wifi version of the Galaxy Tab because it is inferior to the regular Tab.

Just bought a Galaxy Tab P1000 from Verizon last week and very happy with it but would like to use it with a Bluetooth keyboard. Is there any way of telling whether you have the new EC02 update on my unit or if not, how I can get it installed.
Thanks

I purchased the Logitech Android Bluetooth keyboard yesterday from Best Buy and LOVE IT. I am using it in conjunction with my 7" Galaxy tab (Verizon) and had no issues connecting it or the buttons not functioning.

I was a little weary about purchasing the Logitech Keyboard because it specificly says right on the box for Android 3.0+ tablets. My tablet is currently running Froyo 2.2. I decided to purchase it any way and give it a shot, the key board works wonders as I am about to go back to school for my A.A. in Fire Science and can now take notes in class, not only that I can use it on the road as I am an EMT for a private ambulance company and sometimes we do 300 mile transports. The key board also came with a protective case that it slides into when your not using it and when you are using it the protective case turns into a stand for the tablet. My next purchase will be the Logitech Android Mouse, but again comes up the issue (Use with Android 3.1+ Tablets)! I will write a review on that once I purchase it.

Would I recomend this keyboard to someone that was looking for one? Deffinatly.

just wanted to weigh in on the Logitech BT Android keyboard. Makes a great accessory for the 7" tab, with a nice layout, responsiveness, and comfortable form factor for typing. Even though it says for Android 3.0 tabs, just about all the function keys work with the exception of caps lock (caps works though) and the home key, at least on my Sprint Tab updated to Android 2.3.4. The stand is nice and suitable for both small and large form factor tabs. While portable, the only real drawback is that the keyboard doesn't fold up to be compact so you are stuck with lugging around the keybaord at full width. Not a big deal, but since its much wider than the tab, you'll probably need a backpack or suitable bag to lug both around. All in all, I think its a good value even when compared to the non-bluetooth Samsung oem accessory keyboard. One key advantage vs. the Samsung keyboard which hooks up to the dock connector is that you can type in landscape mode with the logitech kb while, because of the position of the dock connector on the 7' tab, you are limited to portrait mode typing only on the samsung kb, which seems a little strange.

I got the verbatim Bluetooth from Amazon which is not full size but is not as mini as the other ones and I love it, it folds in half to the size of a smartphone and comes in a leather case, very happy with it

I am typing this with the keyboardthat comes with the leather cover, it is set up for thegalaxy with home key menu etc. The problem i have is that i constantly have to reconnect it to the galaxy tab. But the setup with the leather cover is great.one can carry it around and have both keyboard and tab in a neat package
