a newie here

does the samsung galaxy EPL-1PL0BEGSTA usb micro to usb port adapter (which is claimed to allow usb flash sticks to attach to the Galaxy 10.1 and work) work on the galaxy 8.9 3g ???

I see no reason why it shouldn't. i think the nominal difference between the two is 1.2" but who's counting (or measuring)!

On the Samsung site it says connectivity via USB 2.0 H/S but I don't see a USB jack on the Tab 8.9 How do you connect to this Tab?
Is it a fully functioning USB? Sorry, I'm new at this.

I have to admit, I don't know a lot about the 8.9 yet, but it's probably via an accessory that fits the multi-port.

Chances are it will allow support for a USB memory stick, and probably very little else............have a look for 8.9 accessories, that might give you a clue

This Adapter fits the 30 pin multiport, as I previously said.......and don't forget......expect it's use to be severely restricted, so research any intended Device for compatibility.

I tried, by using similar adaptor, USB mouse, keyboard and USB memory stick are all function well with Tab 8.9. I like the cursor after USB mouse is plugged in very much!!

But USB memory stick with password or in high demand of current is not working on Tab 8.9.

I also bought that accessory and just like that guy said it could support USB devices just like a USB mouse and USB keyboard, hell it can even support a USB fan lol .
