I have galaxy tab 10.1 and i bought the hdmi adapter (the official one from samsung)
but there is a problem with it
after plugging the adapter and start watching a movie or something the image and the sound will disappear for one or two seconds
its like a flickering problem
I think it happens every 3-5 minutes, I thought that the problem will be with the adapter itself
but many people are having the same problem
(i tried different hdmi cables and still having the same problem)
any suggestions ?

Is the connector cable different for the 10.1 vs. the Tab 7? When I bought the A/V connector it appeared to be for all 3 models, but when I plug it into my A/V panel on the tv I only hear audio, no picture.

What am I missing to hookup my Tab 10.1?

Thanks in advance for any help. :nea:

The Tab 7 connector pinouts are different to the 10.1

The 10.1 connector is the one in the video above..... it is an HDMI connection to your TV.

Have you applied power to it ?

Unfortunately the video isn't appearing in either of my browsers, Opera Mini or Firefox. However, my trip ends tomorrow so I won't be needing a video connector for some time. Guess I'll give my friend who has the Tab 7 this connector and hopefully my city will have the correct cable for my next trip. :-)

Thanks anyway, wizz. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.

I have the 10.1 wifi and dock. The dock has an audio jack for speakers,SAMSUNG says do not use for headphones.I have not tried that.
I have the hd accessory and you have to have the tab in the dock and and the hd adapter hooked up, a line from the adapter goes to the dock and your power cord goes to the adapter.
Then hook up your hdmi device to the adapter. I also have the usb kit accessory.
Samsung is not explaining what accessories work and what you need to do it.
I am going to CES again this year and I plan on seeing the SAMSUNG reps.

hello everyone,

thank you for all your help in advanced

i have been looking for someone to answer the following questions, i am going to buy a galaxy 10.1 and i am planing on connecting the gt to my panasonic tv.

1.can i connect a wireless mouse, wireless keyboard and hdmi cable all at the same time?
2. would i be able to use my tv like if it was a pc diplay?
3. does a wireless mouse work good with the gt?

please explain as much as possible...
thank you all very much!!

You need a dock and the hd adapter.
Put the tab in the dock, put the power cord that comes with the tab into the adapter then plug the short lead from the adapter into the power connector and hook your tv,or projector to the adapter.
As far as your other questions I have not tried them to have an answer.

Hello there,

I have a 16GB 3G/Wifi 10.1 tab (model GT-7500) and am in the UK. In order to extend the capacity of my Tab, I purchased Samsung's proprietary USB Connection kit, with the intention of transferring movies (wmv files) that I have previously bought from the Samsung Movie store onto a 16GB USB stick and using the Connection Kit to connect it to the Tab so that I would not have to fill valuable storage space on the Tab with large movie files.

After copying and pasting the relevant files onto the USB stick and connecting it using the Samsung Connection kit, I am able to see the files via the My Files app, but when I try to play one of the movies I receive a message saying that it is "Acquiring Licence" but then I simply get a black screen and although I can see the controls for the video player, I am unable to watch the movie. This would appear to be a licence accessibility issue, even though I have purchased the content from Samsung. Curiously, if I plug the USB stick into my laptop I can view the movie files from there, and also if I download the files directly to the Tab from my laptop I can view them with no problems - it just seems to be an issue when trying to access files from the USB stick, either directly or after copying them from the USB onto the tab.

This is obviously annoying, as it doesn't allow me to address the storage issue I was hoping to solve.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

If you have the file on your Tab and have acquired the licence.......can you then transfer it to your USB stick to play, or does the DRM still kick in ?

did you also purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 HDTV Adapter ?

I was able to purchase the HDMI adapter via Amazon.com and just received it, but then thought something was wrong when I hooked it up to my Tablet and TV. Come to find out thru this forum that the power cord also has to be installed. This should be noted somewhere in the instructions for us noobs. Otherwise, I am greatly enjoying my new Tablet.

Sorry chhare but we don't write the manuals.

The HDMI TV out cable that I brought from Amazon had one end to go into the TV and one end to go into the Tab. You needed to buy the full cable not just an adapter.

Did you have a read up in here before you made your purchase????

I just got the HDTV adapter to work with my Tab 8.9. The adapter is unlike the one with PT1000 that provided very VGA-like video quality. Worked well with full-HD-like quality but noted 2 observations:

1. Some lag in video playback is observed. Slightly jerky at certain scenes, but not too bad.

2. The tab will display "termperature too high" warning after playback for about 1.5hrs and pause. It sure got real hot.

Anybody with the adapter making the same observations?

I bought the HDMI adapter thru amazon.com and it was available. Received it in the US within 4 days. The only thing about it is to be sure to also have the power adapter plugged in. The video does show that, but none of the instructions that come with the adapter state that.

The rca cable connector will not work on the galaxy tab 10.1. You have to get the hdmi adapter. I had the same problem. Go to Samsungs site to see one. Mine works great.

Alright, big reply to address some of the things listed here.
  • You do not need the Media dock to connect via HDMI to your TV. You can connect the HDMI adapter directly to the tab (but it sits better with the dock)
  • The connection with the RCA cables is not compatible with the Tab 10.1. This is an older connector for the 7" Tab, and the pinouts are not the same. This may work in some way, but it isn't designed with this device in mind. Any success you have using it is incidental.
  • I don't believe connecting the device via USB to your TV will display your Tab on the TV. USB ports on TVs are usually for storage devices. You might be able to access files on your Tab and play them, but a USB connection will likely not display your screen.
  • I'm not 100% sure what I'm about to say is correct, but I'm fairly certain. In regards to the issue Orsett is having. The files work fine on the laptop or the tab directly. This means that there's an issue validating the DRM on the file when it's being accessed via the USB adapter. The unfortunate truth of this is that you'll likely always have to copy the movies onto your device, or remove the DRM. (I'm not going to give instructions on this here at this time)
  • Chhare, I had the exact issue you're describing. I plugged it in, and spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure it out before going to Google and finding that I had to plug the power into it. Honestly, this is a rather backwards design. I'm not sure why the adapter requires external power for this...
  • hibiscus, I've never gotten these issues. I've had issues where the audio and the video don't sync (though this was on the device itself, I rarely connect it with the HDMI adapter) and I've never gotten "temperature too high" warnings. If the device is getting physically hot after 1.5 hours of use, I would strongly suggest contacting Samsung or your retailer about it before something bad happens.
  • wunay, read the previous posts. The answers are yes, and with the HDMI adapters.

Whew! This is a nice long post! Hope this addresses a lot of the posts on this thread.

I purchased the docking station. When I set it up and tried to watch movies, etc. I got a lot of intermittent intrference that made viewing anything unacceptable. Any suggestions?

Ferg,
Have you tried this more than once? If not, check all the connections and give it a try again. It could come down to a bad cable, but I'm not sure. I've used the HDMI adapter myself, and while the quality isn't always fantastic, it's usually acceptable.
