I have been enjoying my tab for a couple of weeks. After letting it charge, I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. So I switched the power cord to 3 different outlets. On the third one, the battery icon flashed for a second, then nothing. No lights, no anything now. I'm hoping it's just a bad charger....plan to bring it all back tomorrow.

Perhaps it got fried. This happened to me but holding the power button for like 15 seconds worked for me. Then it would turn on. Let us know what happens.

Can someone assist me? My tab was charging at about 64% and all of a sudden turned off. I tried to turn it back on and it is dead, wont do anything. I have only had it about five days ... is there a way to reboot? I have no idea why it turned off. I barely have any apps on there as well. HELP!!! :(

Hold the On button down long enough, and it should boot up.

HI Jalyda, most of us users have experienced the occassional blip like this. Often our screens freeze and all soft keys do not function. Just remember to do the power key reboot as told by Wizz (we are not worthy) and you should get out of trouble. How often do you CTRL ALT DEL on your main frame! exactly! it's more than a phone.

This is what I miss on not having a removable battery, taking the battery out was the same thing and cured many a problem :)

Thank you! I had the same problem, holding the on button for about 12 seconds while chanting "please turn on!" worked for me too. Don't know if the "please turn on" helped but it didn't hurt. Tab rebooted and now seems ok

This happened to me twice, once when my tab was about 5 days old and again today.
I followed the advice to hold the power button down for a long time (maybe 20 secs)
as advised and it zoomed right back on again. Good luck, I know I freaked out!

thank you so much guys!!! i got nervous when my tab won't turn on just a couple of mins before i joined this forum when i read all your suggestions. well, guess what it really is true that holding down the power button for approximately 12 seconds counting slow will be the time where the device would power on... hoooo! i'm thinking of having my device brought to the samsung service center and might cost me a lot just for diagnosing the problem... i think that samsung should be more broad in giving information about the device, especially in these kinds of scenarios.. good thing is that we have this kind of forum where all galaxy tab users can share experiences with their device and always have the willing hand to help all those users who are in need... again, i extend my thanks to all of you guys!! =D
