Hi everyone
I am having an issue with an Acer Aspire, Win7, and my very new Tab 7.7 and would appreciate any assistance please?
I connect ok with the official cable but once the drivers are installed, Windows sees my Tab as a "portable device" and not as a "Hard Dsik Drive".
This is ok for most things but Calibre will only recognise a hard drive so does not see my Tab.
Can anyone advise how to mount/unmount the Tab as a hard drive please?
Many thanks and kind regards

on your pc, search for *.epub, open the folder the files are stored in, connect your tab to the pc (as mass storage), copy the *.epub files from the pc to your tab download folder ... open your reader on the tab, menu/import browse to the tab download folder, select the *.epub files
If you have a PLUS it is not actually supported as far as the support list here shows. http://blogs.adobe.c...pported-devices I found this because I too am looking for a solution. If it isn't a PLUS, you should see it listed in ADE on the left side and be able to copy there, because all of the other Sam-Tabs are supported, just not the SAM7+
Copying the books will not help, if they are formatted to use Digital Editions, that is all they are going to work with, unless someone can tell you how to break the encoding, which is of course, considered illegal. Android eBooks will not even open the books and that IS the only supported reader on the Galaxy Tabs at this time. So that solution is out.
The instructions do say to connect your tablet to the computer then open ADE. SO you might make sure you have it in that order, maybe even have the eBook Reader open on the tablet.
Hope this helps and if I do find the solution I will post it here.

OK, I am up and running. Here are the steps and this should work for all tabs. Bare with me...
I am not an eBooks expert, but here is what I know:
When I download the .acsm file, it seems to be an information file. When I click on it it opens ADE and then downloads the actual .epub file and now it is in my library on my computer. These files are stores in the "My Digital Editions" in the "Documents" folder. (I am running Windows 7, so that may make a difference.)
1. Download and install ADE on your computer, create your ADE Account and authorize the ADE on your computer.
2. Click on your .acsm files and let the book open, then do the rest of your .ascm files.
3. Connect your tablet to you computer, open your internal or external card, create an epub or whatever file, copy and paste the epubs from your computer to your tablet.
4. Find and open the eBook app on your tablet, In the upper right hand corner pull down the menu and click on Accounts, Login with the ADE account you created
5. Then click on the menu again and click import.
6. Browse to the epub folder and files you created, choose them all by clicking the top checkbox and then OK or done or whatever it says. They will import and then you can read.
Now that seems like a lot of steps, but that is the only way I can tell you because it is the only way I know. It is possible that you could browse to the store on your tablet and download the .acsm file and it might just import straight to the tablet. I don't know that yet. You may find an easier way to get them to your computer, but even after all this the SAM7+ DOES NOT show up in the ADE on my computer!
Remember to back your epub files up, especially if you download them straight to the tablet.
Good luck!

I think I have an easier fix "maybe".
I mainly use ADE for downloading books from my library. I found that if you download Overdrive Media Console to your Galaxy tab, then authorize it w/ your ADE username and password, you can download E-Pub books directly from your library using your Galaxy tab. You don't need to use ADE and download to your computer first. What a relief!!!

Awesome Southern Gal!
I was wondering if their was anything else out there that let you validate against ADE. It sounds like Overdrive will do it! It is sooooo hard to wade through all of them and find the right one. I have had that installed somewhere along the line and remember it being pretty nice.
Thanks again for the info.

I found this site that has free Kindle books, and it will work outside the US.
http://www.ereaderiq.com/
When you click on the book you want, it will take you to Amazon.com, and you can download it to your tablet.
