Not clear at all to me…
I understand that I can upgrade my native Galaxy Tab 7" Froyo Android 2.2 to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, but the process is looking far too complex to me.

1) I don't know how to save my personal data
2) Apparently all the complex process and files available mentioned are designed for Windows and not for MacOSX PCs
3) I see in this forum that Gingerbread will concern only GSM range of the mobile networks

Well I'm confused and need help to answer these questions and get a possible solution

If you have a simcard slot and you can make calls, it's a GSM version.

I have a Galaxy Tab 7 purchased in India and I have upgraded the firmware to Gingerbread by following the dirty steps given and it worked pretty good. Now I have 2.3.3 version upgraded on my Tab and runs pretty smoothly.

Got an NL version (GSM slot included). Followed the steps, worked like a charm

Hi Guys,

excited that the update is out there.
I had to grab my old windows out of a dusty box and installed Odin. I placed the files of step 1 into PDA and Pit, checked the most left box. I connect my tab, turn on Downloading MOde. It all goes well until here.
I get the message in Odin
<OSM> All threads completed (succeed 0/failed 0)
this happens in 1 second. Nothing happens after this, its not downloading, flashing...

I never connected my tab to this pc? Does the pc need drivers before odin works and finds the tab?
Or is something else going wrong?

I have the gsm 7" galaxy tab version, holland!
I have vodafone, but this is not a vodafone shelled tab.

Hi.

I think you need drivers for the Galaxy Tab. Try to install KIES and it will install all the drivers for the tab. Try after that again. Here you can get KIES : http://www.samsungap...m/about/onPc.as
