I have been messing around with an app called GrooVe IP, which uses your Google Voice account, and allows you to make and receive calls for free (to US and Canada phone numbers) over 3/4G and Wifi, and without a SIP service. I found that it does indeed work on the Tab.
I have my Epic set up on my normal cell account and my Tab set up on another account. So basically I have two "phones" that can make free calls.
Just thought some of you would be interested.

I've been struggleing with very unsatisfactory Skype on my Tab. I wanted to use the Google Voice at first but it was too difficult. Thank you for the great tip! Much better than Skype calling. Now I need to get a refund from Skype--right!
Thanks again, Louise
