Since getting my tab, it's getting a darker patch on the back:

Almost like it's 'burnt in' - anyone else seen this problem?

It won't wipe off which makes me think the white plastic is permanently discoloured.

Heat maybe?

just watched a video of "opening a tab", doesnt look like anything interior would cause that mark, do you use a case/cover or a car dock with the tab ?. (no mark on my 5 month old tab)

video :-

Yeah. Brand new.

It was perfect.

I can only assume that if it's not being caused by something internal, then it's the case I keep it in - but the discolouration seems permanently grained in and impossible to clean.

There's no mark (yet) on the back of my Tab, but checking out the leather case I keep it in, there is a raised area the same shape and size as the mark on yours. Sorry, no suggestions on how to remove.

You think your little stain is bad. The gloss is still there, but the staining has appeared to dissolve the paint from the inside out. I assume it is due to the heat while on the charger all night in the leather case.

I tried both paint thinner and softscrub to get the stain off mine. No luck. Someone in another thread said comet does the trick, but I'm afraid of what comet will do to the glossy sheen.

Tipex not a great idea, tongue in check from Scotty I think. If you really don't like the black patches then go buy a skin. Decalgirl.com or .co.uk. Great skins for Tab.

The battery only needs about 4-5 hours to charge, so don't leave it on all night and especially not in it's case. It needs air. Buy a simple time switch and plug the Tab into that, set for 5 hours. Simples :good:

I had this problem 'cause the case, after a month, it was disappeared, so it is white again. Maybe the new case removes it with "put in get out".
