you could try an app called 'QuickPic' from the market. it has 4 different options for organizing your pics and videos (or exluding videos if you prefer).
http://market.androi...lensw.PicFolder

plus its much more useable than the standard sammy gallery app..

Thanks for the tip! Downloaded QuickPic and it really is a lot better than the stock gallery! :)

After my recent Froyo upgrade (GTAB-P1000 user) my Picasa web albums appeared on my Tabs gallery. I have been into Picasa on my main pc and deleted the albums but they are still showing in my gallery.
None of the normal photo delete options seem to apply to these Picasa albums.
I went into Picasa Tool on my Tab and refreshed, sure enough that worked and the deleted albums had gone from the Tool page BUT they are still in my normal photo Gallery and not deletable. Your help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Blast

File editor does not see them, picasa web does not see them (on Tab and PC), kies does not see them.
Only Gallery sees them.

I just said "THANK YOU" for showing me how to delete these pictures in the GALAXY 5 GALLERY. I was so happy, after following the steps you showed how to, but they were only temporarily deleted, because they popped up again when I shut down the player and turned it on again.

I finally realized that our GALAXY 5 PLAYER got the pictures from our online PICASSA album. What we have to do to delete completely the pictures from our GALAXY gallery is not to allow synchronization with our online picassa.

How to do it? simple steps:

SETTINGS/ACCOUNTS AND SYNC/MANAGE ACCOUNTS/YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT/(UNCHECK)SYNC PICASSA WEB ALBUMS.

Now, Go back to Gallery and you will see that all the pictures from your online Picassa are gone, and this time for good.

My Gallery app has automatically added album art from all of my music (12 GB) stored on my microSD card. Ugg. And of course, there is one folder/picture per album. This makes locating particular pictures or folders painful. Is there any way to reverse this without affecting the album art showing up in the Music Player app?

Like the other posts, I have all types of images in my Gallery. How can I organize the Gallery and/or eliminate some of the images that are not associated with photographs? Thanks.

the Gallery shows all images on the Tab or held in a cache from online sources (such as Picasa)
(cached files can be cleared by going to settings, applications, manage applications, All, Gallery ... Clear Data
files stored on your Tab, will create a fresh Cache on opening Gallery)

organise your images in Folders, pics & videos taken by the Tab go to DCIM/Camera, they can remain there or moved to another Folder

for example "Photos Folder" with sub folders, Home, Work, Holiday, Sallys Wedding ( your choices)
the same with "Videos Folder"

any files you do not want to appear in Gallery place in a Folder "Not Gallery" & add a file to that folder .nomedia ( Google .nomedia for explanation)
any files placed in that folder will not show in Gallery but can be viewed by going to the folder & tapping the file

Instant Uploads

Gallery stores pics in a cache, these are not cleared for "Instant uploads" & any pics you view from, DropBox, Picasa G+ etc
these have to be cleared from "Instant uploads" at source on, DropBox, Picasa G+ etc
goto dropbox, Picas or G+, open the 'Instant Upload' Folder & clear Pictures in there

once cleared from source, on Tab try, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All, .... scroll to "Gallery" & tap, tap "force stop", tap "Clear Data"

return to HomeScreen & open Gallery to see if pics are gone
(Gallery should make a fresh cache of pics that are just on your Tab)

EDIT 23/3/12 Download the Quick pic App for better control/organisation of your photos.
