Found an App to use Galaxy tab as a phone for makink calls on my Galaxy Tab

Just wanted to share with all about an app called line2 for my galaxy tab I downloaded it and will try it for the 7 day trial its 10 bucks a month but if you want a phone to work on wifi its worth it. I made some calls and did some texts and it seems ok

I liked it so I went with the month to month for 9.99 its unlimted texting and voice the only thing is the sound is kinda low but when I need a phone it works.

A word of caution......

I've noticed a lot of these Free Call / Low Call Apps are US only.

So please check for availability if you are not a US Resident.

I use Skype which appears to be less then 1/2 the cost and does the same thing. Correct me if I am wrong.

I wish skype android done video calling as the sgt has a forward facing camera and havnt used it yet.

I use an app called SipDroid and a Google phone number for my gTab. It's still WiFi only, and SipDroid is not pretty, but it automatically configures and registers you with pbxes.org. I have very little understanding of exactly how all this works, but it seems to be set and forget.

Now, in order to give SipDroid a better interface (it is butt ugly), I downloaded Dialer One and permanently assigned that as my dialer. No complaints from the os, I get Google VM, and Google SMS.

It's a tight little (WiFi only) free voip setup.
