hold the back button/icon and press the power button - you will hear the camera shutter sound - that's taken the screen grab, it will be visible in the gallery app and you can use it to send a pic of your homescreen or whatever app which is active at the time - it's a good way of illustrating a problem you are having

I just updated my Galaxy Tab to Gingerbread and the screenshot works, but when I take a screenshot in landscape, for example, I go check the image and it's upside down.

If I take a screenshot with the tab on portait, I go check and the screenshot is in landscape.

Anyone else has this bug?

What happened before (in Froyo) was that the image generated by the screenshot took into account the screen current orientation (I think).

Right now (in Gingerbread), the way I usually use the tablet is considered upside down, and the screenshot system generates the PNG as is, so I need to rotate the screenshot, something I can do just fine in the default gallery.

I thought it was a bug, but it's just a different slightly dumber feature-poor way for the screenshot system to behave.

Thank you!

There is an app ("Screen Capture Shortcut") which will do screen shots, and I believe it only works on Tabs.

It works on either "shaking" or through the notifications area, with a time delay.

(It has a nice camera sound to confirm the screen shot occurred, but this can be turned off if the user finds it annoying.)
