I have a Brother wireless printer and PrinterShare is working fine for me. I know that doesn't really help nut at least I can confirm that it is possible. Contact the developer.- they Will respond and try to assist you.

Ok I found how cloudprint is supposed to work. It works ONLY from gmail and docs, but not from the Gmail app or Docs apps; it works only from the website accessed with the browser (and of course you need to have configured it from a pc with chrome beforehand). So pretty still unusable from the galaxy tab in my opinion. The best solution seems still be the printshare app (and similiar ones).

So, is there any solution that works with a Samba printer? Or a CUPS one?

I use HP iPrint. It works with my 6410 at home. However, I haven't been able to get it working with the HP in my office. (Don't remember the type by heart.)

Thanks all - I'm a newbie and downloaded full version of Printershare as suggested. Worked first time on my HP for all documents not just pics and pdfs. Free version only lets you test - but that's ok becasue it reduces the risk of buy a dud.
Cheers

Love my Galaxy 7.0. Want to travel with it. I have an HP 470 mobile printer. Can I connect to it with Blue tooth? I would need a Bluetooth adapter if this would work. But what else would I need? Is there an app that would be necessary? I have read about print share. Thanks for any help. Theresa

Hi
Does anyone know of a pdf printer - an app that allows one to print to a file in .pdf format, which is then saved on the device - for my Galaxy Tab P1000? It needs to be able to print any selected item, whether a photo, a selection on a web page, a doc or spreadsheet, etc.

hi, I tried installing Cortado workplace to enable Bluetooth printing to my HP 460 from Samsung galaxy tab 7 plus. However it just seemed to time out while trying. Then I installed Printshare, and it done the test page no problem, so I went ahead and bought the premium app.
At this stage I have printed word docs, Pdf's and it seems to be getting everything right

Does anyone know how to print from GT to a wifi printer. All the Pcs and laptops on the network do - surely the GT must do too ?
Any ideas

More than likely there is no driver available to print directly from the GT to your printer. A round about way to do it would be to use Google Cloud Print which would allow you to setup an email address on a Google server where you could email something you wanted to print from the GT. The server would then download the item (doc or pic) to your computer and send it to the printer.

Yes it is a GT P1000 and a Canon MG5350 printer on a windows 7 Homegroup network.
I have done a few searches for printing to a network but most ate using USB to the host PC conected to the Printer.
Mine is a direct WI-FI printer.
I have looked at Samsungs mobile print App and that would do the job if only it could find the Network Printer.
Its the same for PrintShare and others - they all afil to find the network printer.
The GT is on the network with no problems with down loads or surfing.
The Printer permissions are 'shared'
Is the problem a permissions one with the GT ?

No, strollin has given you the most likely reason for your difficulty.....lack of printer driver for your Tab....

Unless you can obtain one...... a work round solution will be required..

Thanks - but ....

Where do i get the drivers for the GT ?

Samsung?, The App supplier?, Canon ?

I can see that the driver would be a problem - IF... The GT could see the printer.

And
In a similar vein - why doesnt the GT show on the network or the GT see the network.

I suspect this is a network permissions sort of thing first

Either or Both.... try them. There may not be one, of course...

If you don't want to believe the solution to your problem...... that's up to you...

Install and Use the ES File Explorer App on your Tab, and you will see your Tab on your LAN....

I've downloaded the EsFile Explorer app and atempted to Search for the network ...

Guess what - It found 1 of the 4 IP adresses after being pointed to the Router adress. good start !

Checked the network presence of the GT - Nada

On the GT there was no access to the IP adress it 'Found' ... after it timed out closed - I had to do another search and it now finds NOTHING ... even if I manually add the IP adress for the 'server'

I have asked Samsung about Driveres for its app ... and awaiting a reply

Meanwhile - any additional network thoughts ?

Edit :
Samsung have replied. It has sort of confirmed its a driver issue, since that app is for Samsung PRINTERS only!!!!!
Having now downloaded a print App from Canon the GT finds the printer ok - Its just a limited app though only printing photos or scans !
Now I want a decent print app that sees the printer !

Any sugestions ?

I use PrintShare Mobile Print and it prints to WiFi printers and bluetooth printers. Have used it since I got the Original Tab and works a treat.
