Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue

I am a new user of Samsung Tablets. Purchased a bunch of Samsung Tab 3 7.0 (Brown and Gold) to take to a school in a remote location. All the tablets were operating after material was loaded on it. However, one tablet came up with a message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." This tablet was never synced using Kies and the location where the tablet will end up, it will be impossible to hook up to a computer. They only have the ability to power up and recharge the battery. I am trying to figure out if there is a hard reset that I can do without having access to anything on the tablet as it will not go past this error message. When I connect the tablet to my computer, the computer does not see the device. I downloaded Kies on my computer but it does see the device. I don't know a whole lot about this, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

check out Sammobile Firmware , enter your Model Number in search,

I don't see any results for SM-T210R, only SM-T210, but as your device is not working,
you may be able to download a copy of the Country/Carrier you need & try Installing it with Odin,
if you can get the device into 'Download Mode'
