Device shows an SD card but it will not mount.
Error message "Blank SD Card"

How do I mount OR format card while inserted into Tab 7?

From a Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Storage.

Touch Format SD card and then touch Format SD card again on the warning screen.

Touch Delete all.

This should reformat the card to the appropriate file system required by your device. :pardon:

I actually did this and it worked, the first time.
BUT!
I accidentally manually deleted all content (there was a folder created while formatting)
and now there is no " Format SD card" as a choice. ONLY "Mount SD Card"
When I click on the "Mount SD Card" it indicates that it is mounting the card TWICE
and then it says "Blank SD Card"
and does not show up in the storage listing.

Then try reformatting from a PC.

If you mean from a card reader, I don't have one.

Plugging in my Tab to a PC does not show the sd card as a drive as it typically would when using file manager (and has in the past.).

Hmmm, card readers come a dime a dozen, so it might be wise to invest in one. Or maybe a friend has one you can borrow/use so you can reformat.

Good evening, gentlemen.

I hope that you can help me with a little problem I have. You see, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, that I have recently updated to 4.1.1 and everything seems to be working fine except one thing...

I have bought a brand new Sandisk Ultra 32 GB Micro SD to watch store some movies there and, perhaps move some apps on it, but I have a very weird bug. You see, when I inserted it the first time it just showed me the "Blank SD Card" sign, just like to this guy on his post : http://www.thegalaxy...-blank-sd-card/ . The thing is, when I tried to format it from the device it just keeped showing me the "Blank SD Card" sign and nothing else, so I popped it into my laptop and formatted it into FAT32. I downloaded some films to the card and tried inserting it again. Once again, my Tab couldn't see the card. I was puzzled and decided to restart the device, after which I actually could watch my movies... kinda... you see, the card seems to, well... Turn off while not turning off. To explain, the movie works fine for some minutes after which it just suddenly "crashes". If I try to turn it on again it tells me "Unsupported format" although it's just a regular .avi file. I tried looking at my settings and it still showed me that I have the card installed with some space occupied on it. I turned my "My Files" window again and every single folder and file on my card was gone. It just showed me an "Empty File" screen. I got confused and turned on the settings screen again where it showed that i have "0,00 GB" space on my card. Afterwards, I popped the card back into my PC and EVERY SINGLE FILE was in place, just as always. I tried inserting the card back into my Tab again and my films and files were back in place, once again, working fine. The same damn thing happens if: 1) 2 minutes pass or 2) I try to move something from my SD Card to my Internal Memory.

Guys, please-please-please help me! I am so angry at this card already!

Hope to receive any advice,
Artur.

Thanks for a VERY detailed post on your situation.

Have you tried moving files back and forth while the card is inserted into the PC? If you encounter an issue there, than most likely it is the card.
Most cards are temperamental when not formatted properly.

Ofcourse on the other hand it could be the device. Have you tried another card in there to see if thats the problem? :pardon:

I tried doing both things. The card works wonders on the PC: it's very fast and stores\plays files perfectly fine.
About the device, I have tried a much slower and overall worse SD Card which is, I beleive, a no-name card with just 4GB in it and, for some unapparent reason, it works perfectly fine on my Tab. I've also tried another 2GB card, which is ALSO not having any trouble at all. Do you think that Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 doesn't support 32GB cards?

It could be. But according to Samsung's website, your tablet should support it with no problems. Try contacting customer support. Maybe someone else has experienced this problem and may be able to assist further. :pardon:

BTW, VERY IMPORTANT, could you kindly put your device information into your signature? This way everyone knows what you have and can give you a specific answer. :good:

I've gotten the tab to recognize 64GB SD cards, and external drives in the TB range. I would pop it back into the PC and reformat as FAT32 again (not a "quick format"). Then see if the tablet recognizes the proper capacity. Then, add a file like a picture or something and see if the tab sees it.

BTW: I would use ES File Explorer for your file manager needs. Much better than the My Files app IMO.
