I'd like to backup all my saved for offline reading web pages. Apparently they are located somewhere in the internal storage, but I've had no success finding any files. Any help appreciated.

Stuff that I download from websites, such as statements, articles, brochures and receipts go the downloads folder. You can find it in the app drawer(arrow pointing down) there are two tabs in the folder. Pictures of orally goes to gallery. Epubs goes to the designated storage for the app you used to download it.

Thanks for the reply but I'm not asking about downloads. MY query may not have been clear.

When I'm browsing, I can go to a website and if I want to read it later I can go to the top right corner of my tablet and click on "Save for Offline Reading" I'm asking where in the tablet storage are these files stored?

Hi,

Ok now I understand what you mean. The logical place would be "My Files>SDCard>Temp_web"

You could just share a link for that specific page(s) to your e-mail address and save it from there or on you PC e-mail for that matter

It's pretty clear I can't get an answer to my question on this Forum, so it's best I seek the answer elsewhere :good:

For those newcomers to Android (like me), I'll first explain how to access pages saved for offline reading.

The clue is that the message "Page saved in Saved pages" appears. Saved pages are like Bookmarks. If you touch the Bookmark icon (top right corner of browser). You should see three tabs across the top... Bookmarks, History, and Saved pages.

The pages that I saved were accessible from there. If you just wish to access the saved page that's great. But it doesn't allow you to actually locate the file.

I found a comment that said the pages were stored at /data/data/com.android.browser/files in a compressed format. Another message suggested data/user/0/com .android.browser/app_databases/localstorage/. But I could not find either folder on my tablet. Presumably you would need to root the tablet.

There is an app called Web Snapshots that claims to save the web page as a PDF file. Perhaps this would help.

What an extraordinary comment to post . Presumable aimed at me? Does a great disservice to this Forum.

Can't speak for anyone else, but if I ever find an answer to my query, I will be sure to post back here. That's what we're here for - to help each other.

Unfortunately, ThatTabGuy is all too correct. People check into a forum like this because of a problem. They ask their question, and frequently never seem to return to provide additional info, or to let others know what they found elsewhere.

I'm sure ThatTabGuy is very pleased that you plan to return. I know that I am.

Thanks cpfan for the backup. :good:

While I have not been a member that long, I know all too well how this becomes a problem. :help: I, like my fellow Moderators and other members wanting to lend a hand, find joy in helping others out. For us Mods, we get a kick out of knowing something we said, or better yet, another member's response, leads to a good result. It helps all in the "community" to see that everything worked out.

We are all glad when you find a solution and return to help the rest of us who may encounter the same problem. :yahoo:

I think I may have it.

Go to the internet and tap on the little star just to tbe right of the little magnifying glass where your favorites are stored. Look to the upper left of the screen where your favorites are stored and you'll see bookmarks, favorites and saved pages.

You should be able to take it from there.

See Cpfan posts above. He/she had it right.

Good luck,

Jim

I had the same question and googled my way here... continued frustration while reading this thread until the post just above mine, and yes, you did have it! So I registered simply to show my appreciation to all of you but especially to the one posing the question as the last who answered it: "THANK YOU!!" :good:

I came to the conclusion that these files are not accessible for regular users. I installed Pocket App. I opened the saved pages and saved with Pocket. The files are now accessible on my desktop computer and can be resaved there with a PDF printer or other program.
