I just got a GT-P3113 yesterday on sale at Best Buy, and it came with 4.1.1 already installed. I read this review and in the screenshots it shows the system bar combined with the navigation bar on the bottom. I went through the whole manual yesterday and didn't see anything about this.

How do I do this, or is it particular to a specific version of the tablet/OS?

Thanks,
Andrew

You should already have this. Unless you were pointing out something specific. :pardon:

The feature you are talking about comes with 4.2. I'm not a big fan, because it robs us of screen real estate.

The combined bars you saw on the review screenshots was for Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x). Jelly Bean (4.1.x-4.2.x) changed things around. To get the setup you saw in the screenshots, you'll have to flash an earlier version of the image.

Hi, Is this correct?
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running Android 4.1.1 which has the status bar on bottom but my friend has a Galaxy Tab2 7.0 which also has Android 4.1.1 which now has the status bar along top and navigation buttons on bottom.

Any help in getting the combined bar on the bottom of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 would be appreciated.

The UI on different size tablets are treated differently. This is why there is a difference between your 10" and your friend's 7" tablets. Apparently Google thinks anything around 7" and under should have more of a phone UI. This is also how it it on my Nexus 7.

If you want the status and nav bars on the bottom for the smaller 7" tablet, you can either flash back to an earlier 4.0.x ROM, or use a custom ROM.

So to get the status bar on bottom of screen they would need to revert back to an earlier version of Android.
I believe that they may have updated to 4.1.1 recently but not sure what version they were previously running (bought as a xmas present in Dec12).
Are there any guides to show how you would go back to an earlier ROM and where would I download say ice cream sandwhich 4.0.x from ?

Thanks for inputs.

Thanks. It would be nice to have the combined bars at the bottom, but it's not worth me downgrading versions.

Hi,
I think my friend would be interested in reverting back a version so any guide on how to do this would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
