The network SSID code is the name that is set in your wireless router, that identifies it when you try to "detect" networks in range on your device.

It has a default name for any given router, but can be changed to anything you like by accessing your routers software.

To access your router you have to type into your PC browser's URL box, it's address.

Different makes of routers can have different addresses. Belkin routers like mine, for instance, have an address of 192.168.2.1

Your router instructions will give you the address that is used by your router.

Finally...... There is always an option in your router setting to either allow or stop the transmission of your SSID. This is set to "transmit" by default.

Hope this helps........... :D

Naturally, you would need to have a wifi source to be able to connect to it.
Once you tun on your wifi, your Tab will scan wifi sources present, if present at all.

There are free wifi which does not require authentication and there are also which do require and this is where you would need a password to be able to use.

From what I understand, you dont have a wifi source, so normally you will not be able to use wifi. :(

You need to be close to an "open" wifi router (called a "hotspot"). Your tab will detect the wifi signal and display the ssid. If there is no password needed, your tab will connect automatically. If you need a password, ask the hotspot owner.
