Greetings.

I bought a Tab 2 P5113 and tried to install cleanRom. Everything went fine according to instruccions, but when I tried to restart it, it just frozen and never shows even the Samsung logo.

Also, if I tried to charge it the battery logo never show charge progress. I tried to boot in recovery mode but cant do it.
Any ideas on how to force or install the stock rom again?

Thanks a lot!

I have bought a Tab 2 for my daughter for xmas and today it shut down -the Samsung logo came up on the screen and it will not switch back on or charge.

I connected it to the charger on the mains and nothing happened so I connected the charger to my lap top and nothing happened. However when I tried to view tab through the file manager on the lap tap the lap top tried to install software - which i thought was odd as I have already done this. The laptop couldn't install software successfully though and an error window came up.

Not sure what else to try...

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Try holding the power button in for 15 secs.

What software had you installed before this problem occurred ?
How did you do this upgrade, through Samsung kies connected to pc or OTA wifi ?

You may need to do a factory reset, details can be found in the Forum help section, or just search " stuck on Samsung logo" this should bring up the factory reset protocol.

The device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1", is only a couple of months old and has NOT been rooted. Also, it has been working well up until now. But now it's stuck in an infinite loop where it shows the battery charging icon briefly, then turns itself off, then after a few seconds the process repeats. I have tried pressing buttons, press-and-holding buttons, all to no avail.

I posted a video clip on youtube showing the problem:

Would love to be able to get my device working again! Any suggestions or advice appreciated.

Thanks, but unfortunately the device doesn't seem to respond to presses. I've tried all combinations of holding power down, holding power down + Vol Down, holding power + Vol Up, with the same result:
If device is not connected to power, there is no effect.
If device is connected to power, the charging battery graphic appears intermittently (as per video), but the samsung logo / recovery screen never appears.

At a loss to explain it, but my best guess is a battery problem.

Well guess what - the device is now working again!

In case anyone else gets this problem: check you are using the correct charger!

In addition to the Tab, I also have a Samsung phone. I had assumed I could use the chargers interchangably, certainly they both have a standard USB port in the power block, but it looks as though the Tab is fussy about being connected via its own charger. Once I switched them over it started charging properly :)

Hmmm, from your video Steve, it seems like you have a Galaxy Note, but thats besides the point. Are you under warranty? Perhaps you might be able to take it back and have it replaced. Assuming ofcourse, you are still under warranty. :help:

This is because the Tab charges with a 2amp charger, while your phone can charge at 500mA. Yes it is interchangeable, BUT you run the risk of overcharging your phone. =@ And at the same time, as you said the Tab is fussy.:nea:

If I had a £1 for every person that has come into this Forum and started a new topic " my tab won't turn on"
I'd be on a beach in Barbados drinking rum punch right now, instead of sitting at my pc in the cold wet UK.

I know you are new, so we will be understanding but PLEASE.... help us out a little with more details.

BUT before you do that, try this......

I bought my sister a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 for christmas and today she was downloading some music and left it downloading while she stepped out. My daughter attempted to play a game on the tablet. She first pressed the power button to turn on the screen and saw that music was downloading she then pressed the home button at the bottom of the screen then the button in the left upright corner to show all the apps then selected temple run then she pressed play and then all of a sudden the screen went blank. We have not been able to turn it back on since. Any suggestions?

Hey Bart Laroc thanx for the help. I have found that it came on but only after it was unplugged from the mains charger. We have found that it is not coming on when it's plugged in only after we plug it out and it keeps saying it needs charging even though it's been plugged in all night, and then when it's turned on it only reads 1% but yet it's been on for the past 20mins or more without cutting out. The charger however is not feeling warm to the touch, and every time we plug in the charger it is going off. I would be most grateful for whatever help u can give me. Is it possible that it may need a factory reset?

Factory re set sounds like your best option but I also wonder if your charger is faulty, they always get warm while charging.

Hello, my tablet just keeps restarting itself. it'll get to the home page then just freezes and restarts. Should I just bring it to the service center since it is only 4 months old?

Try a Factory Reset before you take it to a Service Centre....... If that doesn't work, give Sammy a call, or take it in..

I have had my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for about 3 weeks. I have taken good care of it, kept it charged, etc. I keep the tablet booted all the time and only use the power button to turn off the screen. This afternoon it checked my email then put the screen to sleep. A few minutes later, I pressed the button to turn the screen on and nothing happened. I held the button down for several seconds and nothing happened. I plugged in the charger and nothing happened.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do?

Try holding the power button for a LONG time, not just several seconds.
