Possibly not
But you don't have to have it connected all the while......just use it like you do any other type of charger.......
It's basically there for convenience when out in the car when you run low on battery and can't charge it any other way.
That said.....Some Car Apps like SatNav are a bit heavy on battery use, so keeping it connected will at least slow the battery drain down a bit when these Apps are being used.
If your a "Roadie" I suggest you use Car Dock V3, if you are not already doing so........much better than the core car interface, and ideal for simple, easy control of your Apps when driving
Try it, and if you need help with it.....give me a shout

Thanks for the offer Wizz.
I've not thought about a car dock. I see the V3 app in the market- do I purchase a special "docking station" for my Tab that plugs into my outlet? Does the dock also recharge?

First Off.....you don't need a "docking station" to make Car Dock V3 work, although if you have one, as soon as you put your Tab into it, Car Dock V3 will load automatically, instead of the stock car frontend......which is very basic.
I use the Samsung Car Dock that I bought from the USA.....they are not expected until sometime this month in the UK. It's expensive, but it's the best, and it has a charger car included.
So you should be able to pick one up at a good price in the USA.

i also got my GT last week. I noted that it does not charge (at least fast) from the PC USB port.
Another think i noted, is that, it does not charge, when is on. I have to shut down by GT, then connect it to the the wall power to get the only indication that is charging.

That's normal....
USB Charging is slower than mains charging because it's a lower power interface.. 5V only
It does charge when it's on, but again, slower than if the device is shut down, because when the device is on, it is consuming some of that power that would otherwise be charging the device.
So ALL charge but
USB Slowest
Mains with device on Fast
Mains with device off Fastest

I really don't like having only one USB cable to connect to it, so I have been looking for a third party:
- An additional USB data/power cable Galaxy Tab that works for my GT-1010
- Another plugin device, that has that conventional USB input, like the one that comes with the Tab
- I have seen so many bad reviews of third party cables that are supposed to work with my GT-1010, but don't.
- Why third party ? Because usually they tend to be less expensive an sometimes have some value add
features over the original Samsung equipment
Any recommendations ??
Thanks,
Jon

I have a US galaxy tab (bought from Verizon). Do I need a voltage converter to charge it when I travel to UK, or just a plug adapter?
Thanks.

I purchased Galaxy Tab P-1000 one month back from China. Last Monday its battery got fully discharged. i had no charger available at that time so I put it on charging on Tuesday evening. After full night charging I noticed its battery is not charging. I have checked charger is working fine after using it on another Tab.
Now my Tab is in Dead Condition. Service Center also gave it fast charging but failed. Their opinion is it is hardware problem. But, its amazing how is is possible that hardware is malfunctioning.
May I know if anybody else faced the same problem and any solution.
Regards
Ravinder
